I try never to make it personal. I may loathe a film, but I don't loathe the fan. Believe it or not, I don't hate Twilight fans...I may feel they are a bit misguided or have low standards, but I do not hold that against their character.
I have seen a lot of film do great work with very little. I am a huge fan of fan-films and old BBC sci-fi series lie Doctor Who and Blake's 7, which had a episode budget of only $500 per and yet made classics. Corman's films unfortunate have great ideas but are so poorly written and directed at times that it makes me scratch my head. Budget aside, nothing excuses poor writing save lack of talent.
The only film of his I will watch again willingly though is Death Race 2000...film makes me giggle. Still, I consider his library pretty much garbage.
Yeah, it is what it is man.
I've heard a lot about this movie too, but haven't seen it (probably like the VAST majority of those commenters), and the lame arguments they make anytime they don't praise some indie/foreign/arthouse film they themselves like is just annoying.
It's the same strawmans people like when they don't like dumbass bullshit like The Expendebles or Transformers. "Oh well not everything has to be high art! Not everything has to be Citizen Kane! (the only "smart" movie they can EVER name drop...) Just turn your brain off and just enjoy the mindless fun you SNOBS!!!"
People just need to stop getting so offended that not everyone likes/sometimes hate the same movies they like.
You're damn right i accepct. Spillos of Columbus unite! I'm digging your favorite and all time info. Can't go wrong with any of those choices.
Well, one does their best.
Thank you! I'm already liking the community! :)
Saw you comment about the Robocop remake and had to stop by and check out your page partner. I too didn't have a huge interest in a remake of any of Verhoeven's work, let alone Robocop, but that Omnicorp Ad got me a bit interested in the direction of the film. What do you think of the Total Recall film based on what info you have read or seen?
Hey, Thanks.
I'll change that world actual with Other or something. I'm glad someone is actually reading it.
You have an amazing list too, including some stuff I still need to see. I picked up old movies from my folks. I grew up on The Thin Man, Bringing up Baby, and Harvey.
Hey! Thanks for the add!
this is about the super bowl commercial and a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off':
if you want to know what a middle age ferris is like watch the hang over or old school.that would give you an idea.if they did make another one it would probably be a remake and i have had enough of those.a sequel would probably be more intereating. if they brought back all the cast if possible and have a script like american pie.and have his son as more like Cameron Frye from 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and the character to develop into more like his dad in the original.that way there is some character development like their is in most john hugh movies.or maybe have a darker approach that ferris turns in to a heartless corporate raider.i mean his dad in the original was a businessman and look at how the world of today is.also ferris did use people to some degree.that self assured confident could had turned in to cockiness or worst narcissism.ferris in that context could be a good villain.
