Thanks to AICN (Aint it cool news), I scored free screening 4 days before the wide release of District 9. You should definitely check out or twitter that site for news. I absolutely loved the film. Just a nice simple twist: We all seen in movies what aliens would do to us but what would we do to them?
While the Insider was very long, it was by far Michael Mann's best film. I thought Russell Crowe and Al Pacino did a great job of articulating and expressing the desperation of the characters. If you've ever seen the real interview with Jeffery Wigand, CBS screwed him hard. A disturbing reality of big Tobacco's power.
When I first saw American History X, I really thought it was a very powerful film. I think it still works but its never very convincing why the African American inmate would help Norton's character.
Well, that's enough of my babble. Have a good weekend and sound off if you see any more films. :)
