So, here I am nagging you about Planetary again. The final issue came out almost a month ago. It ties up loose ends and I should let you know now, you should read the Planetary/JLA: Terra Occulta crossover. It's kinda important.
But, hope you read it, and if not, then take your time and enjoy.
First off, I'm totally there with you on financial issues and the semester being a heavy factor. Also, my subscriptions at my comic shop have been behind lately, but the store is sympathetic to my situation, so they're holding them for me.
The final issue will be released October 7th. You're lucky in a way. When you do have the time to read it, you won't have to wait 15 months in between issues.
I've heard nothing but good things about Chew, so I'm hoping to catch that in trade format because I can't afford to read it right now.
Planetary is literally one of my favorite all time comics. There is also a crossover trade that has two in-continuity crossovers (Authority and Batman) and a neat Elseworlds that shows how Planetary could easily have become The Four.
Wow... thanks for actually giving my recommendation some thought. Check it out and hopefully you'll enjoy it. The last issue comes out in October, so if you space out the issues, you can get into the finale with no problem. Let me know what you think of what you read.
heya ;) I think the best examples of 2D these days are in the anime scene, although 3D is becoming more prevalent than ever in most other genres. Some good crossover is happening as well (such as the Futurama series) yet at the same time some of the quick-print 3D offerings (i.e. the new cel shaded Iron Man animated series) just come up lifeless, you know?
I'm a fan of most animation in general, but 2D has a different kind of hook in my heart ;) Plus - zombie mickey is WIN!
The Party's set for August 22. Last time was a blast, but they're changing to a different bar-be-que joint. Ever been to Casino's El Camino on 6th street?
No, Avatar is not an instant classic. I have watched the film twice now once in I-MAX 3D and once in regular 3D. The first time I watched it, I found myself mesmerized by the special effects and the look but feeling a bit empty at the end. It seems…
Okay, let's be very clear on this up front. Very rarely will a "MDS Blog" actually be filled with praise for a "Movie Studio". Bad marketing, poor quality movies, lack-luster scripts, we all hear about those. But, this is one of those very few times…
Countdown to Regeneration: Day 19
School Reunion (first aired on the BBC April 29, 2006)
A London school is haunted by strange, bat-like creatures at night. When the Doctor investigates, he finds an old friend, Sarah Jane Smith, already working u…

Overall, what do you think so far?
I'm dying for the finale. Just a few more months.
