Profile Information

Hometown:
Gibraltar, Spain but Studying in Derby, UK
About Me:
Well, Where should I start... I was born and raised in a British Colony in the South of Spain, where the sun always shines brightly. This makes it a very social scene. I have been known to be a bit of a character at times with my odd quirky moments and silly stories. I am always up for a laugh and if under the right circumstances, something extremely adventurous. I am usually full of energy, ready for the next thing to just come along. People say that I am a depressed goth because of how I dress and because of my music tastes... but I act like a hyperactive kid who just happens to wear eye make-up and listen to Metal! I enjoy life to its fullest and explore all my opinion in love, friends and experience.

I am a huge movie buff. Cinema has been life since I was little but only realised my goal of being a film critic in my late teens. I'm currently studying in Film at the University of Derby so that I can become one... just like the guys here at Spill.com! In fact, when ever I can, I will put up a short film review of a movie or DVD so you guys can understand my film tastes. I love the macho action flicks, especially Hong Kong Kung Fu and Korean Action Thrillers... but also lured to the odd comedy film, melodrama and old fashioned horror movies.

Well, that is the bare bones of it. If you want to know anything else, just ask me. Rock on people!
All Time Favorite Movies:
I am a big film buff, so I can really write a long list of films that I have really enjoyed of the past 20 years of my life. From Short Films to Art House, to Low-budget to Blockbuster. It would be far too many too mention into this... So I'll just mention 10 of them

1) The Die Hard Movies (They ALL Rocked)
2) OldBoy
3) Jackie Brown
4) Johnny Got His Gun
5) 12 Monkeys
6) 3 - Iron
7) Casablanca
8) The Doors
9) Lust, Caution
10) 21 Grams

If you haven't heard of some of these films... WATCH THEM! You'll love it!
All Time Worst Movies:
My God... I am an opinionated guy so when I hate something... I hate it. So here are 7 of them that just made me wanna scream and rant on about how s**t is it...

1) The Phantom of the Opera
2) Gothika
3) Scary Movie 4
4) The Da Vinci Code
5) The Village
6) Meet The Spartans
7) Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof
Favorite Actors or Actresses:
Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson, Viggo Mortenson, James Dean, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts
Favorite Directors:
Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Rodriguez, John Woo, Oliver Stone

Using the idea of postmodernism, I looked into the 2000 cult classic Versus and applying the themes set up in the previous essay. To see the original essay, please click here.

Cutting Into The Scene: Kung Fu Gun Fights and Ghostly Samurais (Part 1: Hong Kong)

Alright Spillos,

Prof. IronMan is here to give you yet another look in the fantastic world of cinema in Cutting Into the Scene.

This session will be a bit special as it will be divided in 2 parts. I have always been a fan of Asian cinema ever since I saw my first Anime so many years ago. As I got older, I discovered a whole new realm beyond those given out by Hollywood... Asia. It was filled with intense history and culture so different to the one I knew and was instantly… Continue
