Remakes: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Word's out that a remake of Moby Dick is in the works. I don't feel all that confident in it. So it had me thinking about other remakes, including reboots, such as comic book films. So here's my immediate opinion.

The Good

This is here because it's from a time when remakes of Japanese horror films were original and not a used-up gimmick. This movie popped out of the dark a… Continue

Top 11 Mentally Disabled Characters

When I first posted this, I had received characters that I should have added. And I agreed with most. So here we go:

11) Arnie: What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Still here is Arnie, the lovable retard played by a young Leo DiCaprio in an Oscar Nominated performance. An urban legend that I don't know the validity of is that he didn't get it because they were scared he really was retarded and… Continue

Top 7 Mentally Challenged Characters

As we all know, Tropic Thunder held up some controversy for throwing out the "r" word without remorse.
Well, big deal. It was a satirical way of looking at shamelessly played retards in movies. I laughed at the "Simple Jack" idea.
But that's not what this is about. It got me thinking about good mentally challenged characters and here's my top ten.

7) Sam Dawson: I Am Sam

good idea. I don't think I saw the one about the messenger. And I'm not worried about my prize. some poster for some movie I've never heard of? if it was a movie or something then I'd be a little more interested I guess, but I'm not complaining!

YEAH MAN! I love Tim Burton, but lately he's become a parody of himself. I'll agree that Sweeney Todd was awesome! but Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was horrible. It takes a lot for me to criticize him because I'm REALLY biased... Alice in Wonderland scares me because I feel that (while I will probably like it) it will fail. But... maybe having an epic bomb might be a good thing for him. It might actually humble him to make low budget original stories again.. one can hope.

wow, Hitchcock... the man... the LEGEND!

I appreciate your comment. I do try to be fair in my comments about movies, but sometimes I just have to give my own opinion. We all have them and I certainly have a few, but I never want to say anything that would offend anyone else. I've been a member of SPILL for a while, but I was never really active on the boards until recently.

I'll talk movies any day of the week bro. hit me up whenever! thanks!

Hey, I liked yours too! And that works since Michael Cera was actually mentioned in the Friday the 13th review. I'm hoping to see District 9. All depends if anyone's willing to go with me. I mean I still have yet to see G.I. Joe...and Julie & Julia...and 500 Days of Summer...and The Hurt Locker so someway I won't get to do everything. Then again, my birthday's next week so I could convince my family to leave me be at theater for a day and see 'em all!
