Best Sidekicks

Alright, this came up after I saw the Jonah Hex trailer on TV and thought, hey, I guess this means Megan Fox is his... sidekick? Well that's weird.

Is she?

I mean, she is like Marion is to Indiana Jones. But maybe that does mean that she is.

So then I thought, what makes a sidekick?

And then I re-watched a certain film that made the list here and decided to make this list, by the by, top sidekicks:

10.) Short Round…

Top Ten Deaths

There's not much of a backstory to how I came to thinking about this. I just started thinking about what really can make a movie. And one thing that came up was an awesome death. Some films try to have an epic passing away, but only so many films have a death that is so memorable that it's an icon for years.

But I'm not writing about the best deaths in cinema. These are just my own personal favorites. So don't say I forgot one, but feel free to share your own. And obviously there are huge… Continue

What Tim Burton Should Do

I just got back from Alice in Wonderland and noticed something. But first, an introduction:

I was a fan of Burton back before some terrible films got made. Like Planet of the Apes and such travesties. I also used to enjoy Johnny Depp before he started playing every possible obnoxious person he could find (with some great roles thrown in the mist, of course). But what Tim Burton has never failed to do is make… Continue

Here be Monsters

I finally got around to seeing the original Gojira, or Godzilla and I realize why it's become such an amazing pop culture icon. Not just because of the amazing monster, or the revolutionary effects, but because of how it was portrayed. The coolest monster in the worst movie could make it completely useless. But when you put a badass like Godzilla in a movie that heavy, it just works. So, out of my own… Continue

The Comparison

The other day I was thinking about douchebags. This is a long story. But that's not what I'm writing about. I got to thinking, my favorite director is Quentin Tarantino, a self-promoter of all sorts. One of my least favorites is M. Night Shyamalan, who I believe to be the most self-promoting man in Hollywood.

And I realized something terrible. They're amazingly similar.

First off, before I get into it, Sixth Sense was great. I'll delve later.

Now, both Shyamalan and Tarantino made a… Continue

Yeah I have that little part of my mind that'd love a King Kong vs Godzilla remake just for sh*ts and giggles. But it'd be some ol' bullsh*t for sure.

They are doing another Godzilla, and this time they are actually working with Toho studios so it wont be as far from the originals. And I think Jackson would do a wonderful Godzilla remake. And no. King Kong vs. Godzilla would NEVER be remade. A 300 ft tall lizard vs a 25 ft tall ape. It would never work out. It only did in the old movies 'cause no one paid attention to stuff like that.

I think that version of Godzilla could've been SOOO much better. I mean, I loved the movie to death, but if it was called something other than Godzilla, I would have enjoyed it. Because that monster, sure as hell was NOT Godzilla.
