The Comics Guy - Transmetropolitan Vol. 1 Review

Hey everyone, I’m heyra667, otherwise known as The Comics Guy. Why the Comics Guy? Because I have a disturbing lack of imagination when it comes to names. But I digress.I’m going to work on a default disclaimer for these reviews, but for this one, I’m just going to be frank with you guys. I’m going to try not to spoil things, but it will happen. Not the big shocker moments, nor the big emotional moments. But the little stuff? Those are fair game. I’m only going to spoil if I need you to know…See More

Zero Punctuation fan club

Whether or not you agree with his reviews, you have to admit Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw is, bar none, one of the funniest game reviewers of all time and his 'show' Zero Punctuation really deserves praise.

Avatar Review: "Nothing you need to see, but might want to anyway."

Here's the deal. I'm fifteen. I get one Netflix DVD per week. And my mom hates action movies. so, understand that I have never seen another James Cameron movie. I entered this with no expectations, good or bad. So, without further ado, let's roll.

The movie is stupid. Very, very stupid. Lots of little holes in logic spring up when you watch. The quote-unquote witty banter between the characters has an audible clunk to it. The… Continue

Movie Review - Blade Runner: The Final Cut

Hey everybody, this is the first in looooong series of movie reviews of whatever I order off of Netflix. As a warning, every one of these reviews will by nature have massive spoilers.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut

You know, as I said earlier, these are mostly reviews of movies that I get off of Netflix. Now you might say, "Well, if you choose what you order, you would choose good movies, right?" Well yes. Yes I would. But sometimes I get surprised by a movie that is so awful… Continue

Ya, I don't put blade runner in my all time favorites, but really? At least you have my favorite movie of all time (If I had a tumor, I would name it Jar Jar) in your all time favorites.

Maybe that's what he really needed all along. More screen time to show his differences from the people around him. However, let's agree that he could have been handled better. How? I'm not sure... just know he could have been handled better.

I don't think he did either. lol

And yeah, we might not totally agree on how it's done. But I think we can both agree that a little more work on the character would go a LONG way to fleshing him out a full person.

Right, but since the machine is no longer working.. did he quit? or did he not quit? It's still in the air on if he actually left the business or just the room. Which I have to admit, is something that they should bring up in the 3rd movie, and make a better character with Fox by using that situation against Batman at a later date.

Okay, maybe it's not as bad as I made it out to be, but it is sort of a weak character that needed some help to be a stronger character.

Correction... he would quit IF Batman would continue to use technology to circumvent people's liberties and rights. Since the control computer was destroyed, Fox didn't have a big enough problem to actually quit. He threatened, but the way the scene ended......

Well, I'm not sure if he actually quit or just threatened to quit because it was sort of tossed in the air if he did or didn't. And, I did like the fact he was standing up to Batman, just think he should have been doing it all along.

Freeman was in conflict for the cell phones, and I'll agree with that. But he RAPIDLY backed down and did what he was told.

I think they could have given that Minor Character a LITTLE bit more work and given him a touch more of a backbone. Maybe it's the fact that it IS Freeman that makes me want him to have a more 'defined' character, or maybe it's something that Batman needs--- someone that will stand up to him on a MORAL issue.
I'm not sure how I would 'fix' that one myself, it is just a problem I have with that single character though.
