Ok, so as many of you may know, I’ve recently joined the “Cowboy Bebop Fan Club,” group on Spill. Why? Because Cowboy Bebop is FUCKING BAD ASS!!! I don’t know much about anime. 10. Fugazi – without them, no alternative rock. Simple as that. Plus the straight edge movement which Ian began in Minor threat is a code that I live by to this day, and I hope I will continue to live by that very same code.
9. Metallica – Yes, I even liked their new stuff. *dodges the rocks thrown his way* calm down, I believe Saint Anger should burn in the fiery depths of Satan’s anus. It was SH##!! However, I do like Reload, I also have a few track from Load that are ok, and Death Magnetic, freaking A man. Still, old school Metallica is the best Metallica, hands down.
8. Pixies – Nuff said. Moving on. Oh and by the way, “where is my mind?” *doges rocks again from the horrible pun*
7. Led Zepplin – again, nuff said. And yes, I still like “Stairway to heaven,” and I listen to it multiple times. Moving on.
6. Jimi Hendrix – maybe not the fastest guitarist, but damn if he didn’t have soul. And that’s all I want in my musicians; Soul. He had the raw talent, the raw integrity, and just the pure raw emotion that makes his music classic. And what’s even more amazing, In the span of only three years, a 20 year old man changed the game of music FOREVER!
5. Primus – Les Claypool, greatest white bass player, hands down. Screw you Flea. You got nothing on the weirdness that is Claypool.
4. The Flaming Lips – just so strange. There music captures me in a way no other music has. With their album, “The Soft Bulletin,” they created a sound so unique, so visionary, and so powerful that the album is just an instant classic. But my favorite album is still “At war with the Mystics.”
3. Radiohead – Nuff said. Best album, “The Bends.” Moving on.
2. The Beatles – Do I really need to explain myself. Maybe I should explain why they are not number 1. Well, they are by far, the greatest artist of all time, but simply, they just are not my favorite.
1. Pink Floyd – Dark side of the moon changed my entire life. It changed my perception, my thoughts, my views on government, eternity, and the world in which we live. The wall is simply one of the, if not the greatest rock movie ever, and “Echoes,” is just one of those songs I never grow tired of. My favorite band of all time.
