I just remembered the other day that the last film i saw of 2008 was "The Day the Earth Stood Still," which i had fun watching, but manly because my friend farted, and every time Kathy Bates came on the screen, i just turned round and whispered "Foosball."
But over all the film was a real disappointment, even thou i was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt.
2009: Went to the cinema twice in seven days. And both films knocked me out.

As for your editing software problem, you should go with Adobe Premiere Elements 7. It's not the best, by any means, but you can get the job done and it's relatively cheap (about $80 US, if I'm not mistaken). User friendly, moderately versatile, and waaaay cheaper than Premiere, Final Cut, Vegas, etc.
Yeah, our effects shots didn't work out, so we're switching gears. Kind of at a crossroads. I'm polishing some new scripts and new versions of old scripts so we can decide what we want to do.
Then there's another short comedy I hope to shoot in the next month or so.
Along with a few other surprises that will be announced on a LEOG quite soon, I'm sure. :)
When we did our first one, we just sat down, looked at what resources we had (places, people, equipment, etc) and figured out what we could do with that. Some people will advise against it, but I wrote the script around that. First and foremost, your script has to be *solid*. And to make it easier, have very few locations and characters. Spielberg also has said to keep your story simple for your first outing. If that helps . . .
