And does Bioware have the license to XCom? That's a property that has languished farrrrr too long. Those first 2 XCom games are classic!
The first applies because there is a BIG difference between "Oh noes, people might see what Deadpool looks like before seeing the movie" and "Oh no, people might see the movie before it's even released and then spread bad word of mouth." The studios have never worried too terribly much about us getting their movies because the worst we do is review it. This is different. VERY different. And they're freaking.
Instead you came out swinging like a brazen dickhole who THINKS he knows what he's talking about, but doesn't. So let me break it down for you, asshole style.
1) Your premise is completely wrongheaded. Studios haven't had a terrible problem with movie fansites because they all operate by a very simple code: NEVER MAKE COPIES. If something falls into your hands, no matter how it got there, you are protected by press credentials. However, if you ever copy and pass it along, you can risk your whole site. The studios never feared significant financial loss from the fansites, because fansites getting their hands on material meant that it was staying put. They did however start clamping down in a number of weakpoints round '02. Before then, we had access to everything.
b) Wrong again. This site is NOT first and foremost a user content site. We're an animated movie review site - the user content was an afterthought by our parent company about 2 and 1/2 years into this project. But like any site with user content we need to protect ourselves from litigation. That's why in your TOS you'll see that we can (and will) delete whatever the hell we want to ensure we don't have to hire lawyers or have headaches. Deletions are far from uncommon - especially when users post graphic or offensive content or links to/information on pirated films.
Our response to this issue is simple: FOX is a very litigious company. It doesn't matter if we're right or protected by freedom of the Press - still requires a lawyer to defend in court. And it's a hell of a lot easier to pull a piece than deal with a headache - especially when the guy was asked not to post it in the first place by yours truly.
Next time, try having a discussion like a grown up and you won't be treated with such ill regard.
There's so many things wrong with what what you wrote that I can't even respond. Wow. I'll file you under "clueless dick."
There's one (episode 7, I think) called "Random Shoes" which is told from the perspective of a recently-deceased kid, a ghost, if you will; who is trying to help Gwen understand how he was killed. Of course, Gwen can't really hear him or knows he's even there.
And there's another episode (late in the season) which centers around three people from the 1940's who were caught in a time-storm and deposited in the present day. It was a sobering look at Then and Now, and was brilliant.
Each one stood out as a really strong Sci-Fi story, that just happened to star Torchwood characters. I'd highly reccomend at least watching these two episodes, they're too good to miss.
Oh, and like Cyrus said, Season 2 of Torchwood is incredible. The mistakes they made during season one have been fixed (there was only one Capital-letter "B" BAD episode in Season 2. "The people in the rain" or "they came from the rain" or something like that. That one is 100% skippable. it's like a Scooby Doo episode but boring. but with only one bad episode out of 13, that's a pretty damned good record.)
Hopefully this'll be helpful.
Oh, and Welcome to Spill!
