How Factual Do You Want Your Biopics?

This is a question that Ive thought about for quite a while now. Recently, I saw Ed Wood again, and despite the fact that it fictionalizes alot of Wood's life (his relationship with Dolores, it underplays his alcoholism, it glosses over a considerable amount of details concerning Bela Lugosi), I still adore it and consider it an underrated classic. On the other hand, there's Patch Adams. Unlike Ed Wood, which had managed to capture the optimism/denial and spirit of its central character despite…See More

Hallway Tears, my new film

Here is my latest short film, Hallway Tears. The premise centers around three high school seniors who are troubled by their onset of leaving the comfort of high school and entering adulthood. What binds them together, and ultimately comforts them, is their nostalgia. This was a passion project of mine for a while and is my first official film with a cast other than myself. It took two months to make and most of it was shot entirely during during school, so I applaud my costars in giving me 110…See More

Woody Allen's "To Rome With Love" trailer

This is the trailer to Woody Allen's 42nd film, To Rome With Love. Now, I am a HUGE Woody Allen fan, with Midnight in Paris or Zelig being my absolute favorite of his films. But with this one, I'm a little mixed. On one hand, I feel that there's too many characters and sub plots reaching out for attention, some of the acting looks either bland (i.e. Alec Baldwin) or surrogate Allen (i.e. Jesse Eisenberg), and the humor seems too dependent on one liners (which wouldn't bother me if they had more…See More

Need Your Help for Emerging Issues Prize

Over the past two months, I have been apart of NC State's Emerging Issues Prize for Innovation, with the said emerging issue being North Carolina's high school graduation rate. My Sports and Entertainment Marketing class made it to the finals with an idea for a new school program called Operation Don't Quit. In order to promote the program for potential use, my class had to create a video and upload it to Youtube. The video was made in the form of a movie trailer and was directed and edited by…See More

Tough Guys Gone Soft: A Cautionary Tale to Being a Hollywood Badass

every once and a while, hollywood receives its share of movie badasses, the rebels without a cause who represent the pinnacle of manliness. there were those like Marlon Brando, James Dean, and Clint Eastwood were able to showcase their acting chops to go along with their brute nature. and there were those like Stallone or Schwarzennegar who could kick ass and looked good infront of a bluescreen explosion. they werent necessarily good actors, but they were entertaining.

unfortunately,… Continue

Hey man, I know I'm astronomically late on my defense of the Star Wars prequels, but I figured you were away from the site until I saw that you came back periodically. The best I can muster up is this, which I kind of feel shitty about because it makes me feel lazy for not giving you my response towards your own inquiry all those months ago. Hope it statisfies.

Okay DarkProphet94 your right.

After careful consideration I realised that I need to really burn off this frustration that I have toward's Co-Host's neagtive movie review of Cars 2 and I should face the sad fact that Co-Host hated an animated movie from Pixar Animation Studios for the first time ever.

Since you said your a "sadomasacistic movie watcher" I have to ask have you ever saw Batman and Robin all the way? Also have seen I'm not There or Cutthroat Island I consider them bad films in my opinion and I'm wondering if you would watch them...if you dare!

Hey dude, wanted to say that I completely agree with you with Funny People. I adored that movie and thought the exact same thing. In fact, that movie (along with The Ugly Truth) aired at the same time at my college theater. My roomies talked me into seeing that, and I got so irritated by how bad it was.
