Dan's Retro Reviews: Return of the Killer Tomatoes

There are crazy movies, then there are bat-shit insane movies, and then there's Return of the Killer Tomatoes. Starring a pre-success George Clooney, the movie takes place some time after the previous film, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: tomatoes have been banned all across the country

Dan's Retro Reviews: Vertigo

There are very few things that I would consider a work of genius, but Vertigo is definitely one of them. This 1958 Alfred Hitchcock film contains stellar acting and a story that's so full of brilliant twists that it's easy to get lost in it. The movie follows a detective (James Stewart) as he takes a request from his old colleague to follow his wife (Kim Novak) and watch for any strange beh… Continue

Dan's Movie Reviews: Edge of Darkness

Today I went to see two movies: Edge of Darkness and Avatar (again). Even though my second experience with the latter was no better or worse than my first, I like the former film better.

I've never seen a Mel Gibson film aside from two that he directed, Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. I've yet to see a Mad Max film, a… Continue

Dan's Movie Reviews: Legion

So, after weeks of fewing the trailer and marvelling at its awesomeness, Legion has finally been released and I must confess myself... highly disappointed.

In the movie, God has lost faith in humanity and sent angels down to Earth to wipe them out. However, the archeangel, Michael (Paul Bettany), still retains his faith and becomes a fallen angel as a res… Continue

I was never really a big fan of rock music until the Beatles came along. I would occasionally pick up the latest album promoted by WWE (barely of which were any good), but other than that, I didn't listen to rock that much. Of course I knew about…

There are two movie themes that I absolutely adore: living in a post-apocalyptic world and vampires. And what do you get when you mix them together? Daybreakers! In this movie, the world has been taken over by vampires and the remaining humans ar…

Thanks for the add. I've enjoyed all the music posts you've done. And reading your favorite bands, you got two of my favorites: Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead. If you want to know some good Dead shows, let me know. I've got a bunch.

Don't see Battle Royale. The film is garbage.
Instead, read it. The book, unlike the film, has a stronger message than just blowing kids up.
