Things To Do At Comic-Con, Part 1For film fans, the end of July signals the end of the Summer movie season (though this August is chock full of cinematic delights) – a time when we look back at the ups and downs of Hollywood’s most expensive products and, with greater enthusiasm, look toward the future. Anyone who’s ever been to the San Diego Comic-Con knows that there is no better place to get buzzed up on upcoming movies, television shows, comic books and all things pop culture than the nexus…See More

Review: 'The Kids Are All Right'

As the Sundance, TriBeca, SXSW and Cannes Film Festivals wrap up in the first half of every year, a handful of films generate enough positive reviews that we in the entertainment news industry inevitably begin to discuss their respective Oscar prospects. It seems a bit silly – talking about award-worthy movies whilst the studios that produce and/or purchase them are throwing their most expensive and often most odious crop at us. It’s also a futile practice, as even more high-quality motion…See More

Re-casting Jonah Hex actorsJonah Hex is finally in theaters today and while I’ve been rummaging through premiere photos and reviews, I couldn’t help but notice how many other comic book movies the films cast is attached to or already a part of. It’s a common occurrence; actors like John Wayne and Roy Rogers made legendary careers for themselves working…See More

Western ReduxHowdy! Apparently you all had so much fun talking about how much you like/dislike/appreciate/don't get Jonah Hex and the Western genre as a whole last week that I've decided to keep the discussion going by reintroducing a few more classic characters from comic book history that somebody should adapt for a film. You may or may not have heard of these guys, but I assure you that…See More

Lights! Comics! Action!Attack of the Westerns! The Western was once the pinnacle of popcorn entertainment. With guns, bad guys, damsels in distress, shootouts, bank robberies, chases and more, they had everything that makes a modern blockbuster successful (and were made with a lot less money). Then, sometime after Clint Eastwood left the American frontier for urban justice as Dirty Harry, the Wild West…See More

LCA: 5 Things I’m most looking forward to in Kick-AssSince its production began in the fall of 2008, Lionsgate’s Kick-Ass has generated as much hype as any mainstream comic-book movie in recent years. Glowing early reviews have fueled the anticipation for its release, which is finally here and since I haven’t seen the film yet, I thought that I’d round off the top five things that I’m looking forward to most in…See More

When Bryan Singer was announced to be sitting back in the directors chair for 20th Century Fox's X-Men: First Class, I was both excited that the creative force behind the only good mutant movies was back in action and relieved that after years, a competent and knowledgeable filmmaker would be working hard to make a special film and not just looking for a quick paycheck and a lot of attention (cough,…See More

Lights! Comics! Action!Fanboys Rule The World! To say that superheroes have found a permanent place in pop-culture is an understatement. The characters - Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man, etc. - are some of the most recognizable fictional figures on Earth. Nowadays, comic-book related content is the niche that Americans anticipate the most. But what of the REAL fans - the people who bought the comics and collectibles that kept the publishers in business all those years before those…See More

Hey Daniel, for High-School aged Spiderman, Joseph Gordon Levitt is just a tad too old. If it was college they could pull it off, but I can't picture Levitt as a high-schooler. It would be awesome though.

You're the only other person I know who lists Joseph Gordon-Levitt as one of their favorite actors, and I see Brick among your favorite films. My fave of his is Mysterious Skin, but I just saw 500 Days of Summer which was pretty cool and Latter Days where he played a total prick! I have a list of his movies that I am gonna work thru.

Anyhoooo, thanks for the add! Interesting page!

I think Ivan will return as the director. I got a little bit daring in my blog and say that he will be named director by the end of the week. Ok, that'll probably won't the be case but I moset certainly think he return to the role. I mean he can't not to the film and NOT direct it... lol
