this may be where we differ... i am of the opinion that norris is dramatically inferior to walken in virtually every way (the exceptions being beard badassery, and roundhouses). norris would buckle under the weight of walken's jockstrap. i can appreciate that the nearest badass that walken can be compared with is a norris, but yeah... as our friendship is in the developing phases, i need to make sure that as a cornerstone of that friendship, that we should have this point be clear...

I'm pretty sure I saw that... Twice. Like while flipping through the channels or something... Isn't that the one where the movie is progressing along a fairly static narrative, and then walken shows up, gives a monologue about something, then does does stuff? I love that movie. Is it out on DVD?

if i were the kind of person to fall in love with strangers on the internet due to their perceived awesomeness in a few posts, i would totally marry you, and offer your family a dowry of livestock and choice property. and by livestock, i mean the whole shebang. goats chickens and cows. noticed how they were all plural... yeah, i got it like that...

just so you know, it was walken that put that over the top...

this may be too awesome... it is entirely likely that the level of awesome will become cyclical and collapse upon itself before any effect can be registered on reality... it may very well supernova, but in upon itself before it can permeate into all of creation... if the end game here is to truly undo all that is, and will ever be, we may need to scale it back a little... instead of jean claude van dame, i say we get the guy from the american ninja movies, and we replace arnold with dolph lundgren... sly stallone with his brother frank... we'll keep that other stuff though... i think it will work. then, we can shoehorn in some of the bleeding heart environmentalism via steven segal, as i am pretty sure he hasn't really grown out of that phase yet... i think a slide show at the end of the film on the impact and dangers of logging on the squirrel community would achieve this nicely. then, in the very last minutes of the film, all of the principal players stand hand in hand singing we are the world as a group of ninjas run up and start to brutally and repeatedly kick them all in the balls... fade to black. roll credits.

that's a wrap folks, hookers and blow in charlie sheen's trailer.

You, my friend, have hit the mother lode of knowledge on "The Dark Side of the Rainbow". It all started in 1994, when fans started posting the phenomenon on a Usenet message board. This was pretty early internet stuff, and even after deep research, I still can't exactly who said it first, but I'll keep digging. In 1995, it became mainstream knowledge, with references to intentional "synchronicity" between the two. In 1997, it was featured on MTV news. In 2000, on the TNT network, Turner Classic Movies showed "the Wizard of Oz" with the alternate Pink Floyd soundtrack. Turner Network has owned Wizard of Oz since 1986. Pink Floyd bandmembers have repeatedly insisted they did not deliberately conceive Dark Side of the Moon to coincide with The Wizard of Oz.

On a side note, the third act of 2001 a Space Odyssey and the song "Echoes" lines up real well, both are 23 minutes long. Stanly Kubrick originally wanted Pink Floyd to do the soundtrack for Space Odyssey. Roger Waters, to this day, still regrets not having taken him up on it.

Aren't you glad you got in Spill. There's geeks like me all over the place!!

You can print up a transcript that teels all the things in the movie that line up with the lyrics. Actually it's fascinating and creepy at the same time, which is why it's so intriguing (sp?) to me. I watch it a few times a year, but I have to have a totally uncomplicated afternoon because I have to flow all the way through it.

About Me:
Why hello there. My name is Colby, and yep, I'm a girl. I have been drawing for practically my whole life, and I am a lover of all things art including photography and art history. I am also a lover of animation and film, and I am currently enrolled in a computer animation program at my university. My love of films has also molded me into a strict critic, so if want to hear my opinion on Transformers don’t even get me started as you will hate me forever and wish me dead. Guaranteed! :D

I am also an audiophile, and I have an avid love for ambient and electronica music of any kind. I personally love practically any and all forms of music (the term music, of course, is strictly applied). Speaking of strict, I am also a grammar Nazi, and a dedicated one at that. How dedicated? Let's just say that chat-speak makes me die a little inside, and people unable to distinguish between "it's" and "its" make me grind my teeth.

I suppose that that is the nitty gritty of it all. I shall add more, or take away, if I feel the need. Feel free to drop me a message and chat things up! :)

My reaction to the 'Where the Wild Things Are' trailer.

"I didn't want to wake you up, but I really want to show you something."

These are the only words spoken in the first official trailer for Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are, but no more words were necessary to take me on a wild, joyous nostalgia trip. 'Where the Wild Things Are' was one of my favourite books when I was little (along with 'Goodnight Moon'), and my parents used to read it to me practically every night before I went to sleep. I was fascinated with t… Continue
