Ever since the first trailer for this movie hit the internet a couple months back I thought two things after viewing it: 1. That this was going to be a terrible film, and 2. it's just going to be an excuse to get Megan Fox naked. In a way, I was r...

I'm not going to go and say that this movie is going to change anyone's mind if they didn't like the theatrical version, nor am I going to say that this is the greatest super hero film ever. I am simply going to state my opinion on the film and wh...

So I just got back from seeing "The Hangover, and I have to say that I was surprised at how well done this film was. When I first saw the trailer for the film I didn't really think much of it. I mean sure I laughed at the scene where Mike Tyson si...

I've recently started reading crime/detective novels after reading the brilliantly written Parker novels ( a series of books written by Donald Westlake under the name, Richard Stark) which feature an amoral criminal and the heists he's involved in...

hey, on the director's cut watchmen dvd do you have the option to watch the theatrical cut as well or is it only the director's cut edition? or does director's cut just mean theatrical release version with bonus material in the special features?

I'm going to "re-work" it to make it actually be clearer exactly what I'm trying to say. Just wait a couple of days.

hey dude! Im just read yur comment and I dunno how to respond back and such really yet (still a bit new to the site LOL) but yea I agree with you on the point ya made that Da Ali G show used that same humor technique on TV for a few years b4 the movie. But as much as I loved Da Ali G show, it wasn't mainstream in the US. It was a show that premiered in the US on HBO and it didn't catch on as well as it did in the UK. In the UK it was a cable access show and HBO still is a extra-pay channel and that limits your audience. Da Ali G show was a funny ass program, but my point is for the mainstream american film crowd, you had not really seen a comedy film like Borat which is why it did so well. It was only after Borat did so well that Da Ali G show finally caught on. My contention was that it wasn't presented to the mainstream film crowd here in the US, but I agree that it wasn't new.

Well it's still pretty cartoonish and 'Speed Racer' although it took place in a futuristic cartoony world, it still delt with real family issues which some critics didn't notice at all. When Speed wins the last race I just wanted to jump up and shout "Go, Speed Racer, Go", especially when that awesome remix played at the end. It was like an Anime Otaku's wet dream, but even in the Anime fan clubs it was still panned.

Hopefully if there's a sequel it'll do better.

Yeah, it's only loosely based on the Anime 'Neo Human Casshern' and I highly recommend it. Also check some of the TV from the director's latest film 'Goemon' on my blog. Filmed the same way Casshern, except with better CGI effects and it looks more inspired by old Kurosawa flicks and old Japan.
Wow, Speed has a cult following. That is awesome because I'm so tired of people bashing on it because it uses tons of CGI and for being way too over the top, even though other films like Sin City did the same thing.

Hopefully over the years it will gain a huge cult following, so that The Watchowski Bros won't have to regret making it.

If you liked Speed Racer you might like Casshern. It's another live anime filmed in Digital Blacklot, except on a budget of only $6 million. The story is kind of all over the place, but that didn't stop me from loving it.

Finally somebody who loved Speed Racer.

I don't know why everyone hate it; it was just like the cartoon(Except 10 times better) and it actually has a deep moving story unlike some other recent children flicks.

:)
