Crazy Movie Theory: The Dark Crystal

Recently, Netflix has come into my life and I must say, it's pretty awesome.  It's helped me through many a boring night at college when it just seems to be a dull weekend.  It's also great because it gave me the chance to watch Jim Henson's fantasy epic The Dark Crystal again.

A favorite movie of my childhood, it truly shows Jim Henson's ability as a storyteller when he puts…

The Shadow Hare: Behind the Mask

After a few weeks back from school, I finally have time to do some writing on this site. Finals were a fucking heart attack and a half and my new job sucks balls. However, you aren't reading this to find out about my personal problems so here we go.

Over the past couple of weeks (or months, time is a strange thing in college), the internet has been abuzz about the Shadow Hare: a 'real life' superhero patrolling the streets of Cincinnati, Ohio. All that is known about this person is… Continue

Kentgate: Can we just shut up already?

I have been on this site for a long while now (My first post was way back in September of 2007) and this is the first time I've ever seen a Spill Scandal. Anyone who has been on the site in the past few weeks knows all the drama that is in the forums. For those of you who don't, Kent wrote a review for a pirated movie… Continue

Overdue Movie Review: Coraline

There is a strange paradox when it comes to horror movies and young children. On one hand they will constantly want to see horror movies in a desire to become more "grown up", on the other hand many parents may wonder if they are mature enough to watch a movie like Alien and not get so scarred that you are forced to eat breakfast with your shirts off in case a random chestburster finds its way out.…

My plea to Hollywood

Way way back in August, I walked to my local comic shop and picked up a graphic novel that a lot of people said was pretty good. I sat down and I read it in the lobby of my dorm room and was drawn into a grim looking world of faded superheroes and nuclear war. The next thing I knew, I was halfway through the book and three hours had passed.

This graphic novel was called Watchmen. Since that fateful time in August, I have read the book at least five more times, enjoying it more… Continue
