About Me:
I drink your milkshake, often while watching movies. I devour anything and everything cinematic. I moved to Austin from across the country because of the Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theaters. I actually have the misfortune of calling CarIyle my friend. I am married, some woman actually likes me enough to touch my naughty parts, and I have a crap job. But again, movies are my passion and that's how I spend my free time; soaking in the celluloid jacuzzi.
All Time Favorite Movies:
Godfather, The Dark Knight, Tombstone, Deathproof, Rope, Halloween, Cool Hand Luke, High Noon, The Departed, Goodfellas, Sunshine, Mirage Man,The Orphanage, City of God, Son of Rambow, Big Lebowski, The Prestige, Shaun of the Dead, Danger Diabolik, Intacto, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Clerks, Infernal Affairs, Saw, The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), Psycho, The Signal, The Usual Suspects, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Batman Begins, The Searchers, Shadow of a Doubt, Westworld, Dead Man, Battle Royale, Yojimbo, Duel, The Lost Boys, Scarface, Assualt on Precint 13, Wall-E, Memento, I can't possibly list them all.....
All Time Worst Movies:
Final Exam (1980), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Hulk, The Happening, Stealth, Poolhall Junkies, Beautiful Beast, Rob Zombie's Halloween, Epic Movie,
Favorite Directors:
Hitchcock, Scorsese, Kevin Smith, The Coens, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, QT, Kurosawa, John Carpenter, Christopher Nolan, Ron Howard, John Woo, Edgar Wright, Takashi Miike, Tim Burton, Jim Jarmusch, Danny Boyle, PT Anderson, Wes Anderson, Ridley Scott
Yeah, sooooooo...............
The Lance Armstrong story is about my buddy Luke and I. Yeah!

Friday the 13th (remake) 9/10

Friday the 13th. The original is heralded as a classic and yet the majority of its fandom cannot help but concede its overwhelming faults. I am among these apologetic enthusiasts; watching the originals and all the subsequent sequels on VHS all throughout middle school. I love the Jason character but the charm of the Friday the 13th series is its campyness and its loveably awful “acting”. At no point, even as a kid, was I afraid of Jason. The modern incarnations, X & Fvs.J, have actually onl… Continue

Dead Man 9.5 / 10

Wow. Wow. This was an unbelievable movie. Directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring, among many others, Johnny Depp. I am going to do my best to describe this movie in all its splendor. It's an epic poem played out in the Old West. It's the retelling of an American myth that does not exist. It's as simple as it is complex and metaphoric. With characters ripped from some sort of Dashiel Hammet/Zane Grey nightmare. It was beautiful and stunning and entertaining all without breaking stride. I loved it.… Continue

The Oscars are Bullshit!!!

Every year I say this, and then the next year I eshew my distaste and blind optimism wins out. But then the fucking Academy pulls some fantastical bullshit almost every single time that makes me revert back to the bitter pesimist I am.

Are you fucking kidding me not nominating The Wrestler for best picture? I mean seriously, is this a joke? I don't care if you thought other films were better, I don't even care if you hated it. You cannot deny that the Wrestler is deserving of the chance to comp… Continue

My Bloody Valentine 3D 3 / 10

I have to say I was dreading seeing this film. I loved the original after seeing it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and all I had heard about this remake is that it removes all the things that made me love the original and replaces it with a gimmick not used since the third installment of the Friday the 13th series. So I was dragging my feet to this, making snarky comments all the way. But as I sat there, waiting for the film to begin I started to feel this twinge in my testes. I decide… Continue

Yojimbo 9 / 10

Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurosawa! He rocks my socks right the hell off! I have seen quite a few of his films by now and I have to say, my favorites were his non-samurai flicks. I don't know, it's just that some of his samurai movies are so epic and mystical that they border on pretention (no that's not fair, more like they seem like Kabuki plays which I have never enjoyed). Up until I saw this movie my favorite Kurosawa movie was one called Stray Dog in which a cop loses his… Continue

Eh no problem, I would hate to see people hating good movies like that. Also I don't feel a movie needs recognition from other people for me to like it. I mean look at Raging Bull, I love that movie but it got no recognition.

no problem about the welcome :)

Yeah I love comics. What are your favorites?

And X-men 3 made me like singer even more. And Nolan is an amazing director, did you see him at the golden globes?

I actually seen Slumdog Millionaire like a few days after watching The Wrestler and I have to say that The Wrestler was a better film overall.

Thank you, sir. You have excellent choice in directors, if I don't say so myself.
