Cinematical.com: Summer 2009 Fun Facts

Hey, do Scott a solid and post a link for this. Copying and pasting is bad business - and especially disturbing when it's a good friends piece. Give Ol' Scott some love.

About Me:

Hey kids, it's me Carlyle. I'm just your standard, run of the mill animated movie reviewer. I enjoy watching movies, talking about movies, arguing about movies, dropping names of all my famous friends (that are in movies) and long walks on the beach. So if you're single, and a consenting adult (kids be sure to ask your parents what a consenting adult is), I'd love you to "Friend" me. You know you want to. Just click it. Click my little button. Come on. Click it. Just do it for daddy. Click me one time. Give me the the naughty "Friend"ing I deserve. Then be sure to check out my movie reviews and let me know what you think.

Just a few notes. I LOVE you guys. Absolutely love you. But due to my busy schedule as a freelance journalist I'm not always able to return messages or board posts. Trust me, I read THEM ALL, but I don't always (in fact I almost never) have time to respond. So please don't feel left out or offended if I don't get back to you. You're not being ignored. If you have a question for ASK CARLYLE, please leave it on the Comment Wall below. It makes it easier for me to find. Thanks for reading and watching guys. Our shadowy masters wouldn't sign our checks otherwise.
All Time Favorite Movies:
The Seven Samurai, Battle Beyond the Stars, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Star Trek 2: the Wrath of Khan, Lord of the Rings, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Man on Fire, Can't Hardly Wait, Sky High, The Dirty Dozen
All Time Worst Movies:
Gummo, The Doom Generation, and about a thousand films that only I and the filmmaker's family have seen. Recent worsts include Daddy Day Camp, Bratz, and Codename: The Cleaner, Witless Protection, Over Her Dead Body, Meet the Spartans, and The Love Guru. And coming soon: Disaster Movie!
Favorite Actors or Actresses:
Right now I'm keeping an eye on Justin Long and Amanda Bynes, both of whom are really great, but are waiting for their BIG HIT to convince everyone else. Jonah Hill is a current fave, and I will watch Samuel L. Jackson read the phonebook, fight snakes or even star in The Man 2. I might not like it...but I'll watch it. Ving Rhames, Kevin Spacey, Edward Norton, George Clooney, Brad Pitt all round out modern all time favorites. I'm also a huge Claude Rains fan, and yes, I'm big into Lee Marvin.

Ask Carlyle: Who should be the next Batman villain?

I get this question A LOT. Mostly as a joke these days (we even got it at the Spill Party Podcast), sure, but we still get it. So I figured I might as well get around to answering it. Truth is, I'm sick to death of all the STANDARD Batman villains. I've seen them done to death. Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Catwoman. How many more incarnations do we need? Here are the 5 different guys I personally want to see in a new batman movie.

5) Someone NEW.

Do you have the LEGAL RIGHT to anonymity? This lady thinks so!

Here's an important issue that will most assuredly be breathing down the neck of the legal system over the next few years: do you have the LEGAL RIGHT to be anonymous? That is to say, are you protected by law to keep your identity hidden, as long as your speech doesn't break the law? Well, that's the issue this blogger is addressing now inContinue

I am with you on Smoochy. My go to answer for when I am asked favorite movie is Galaxy Quest and Death to Smoochy together. Even though it Time Bandits. But most people now days just look at my blankly. I get that anyway from the public so it's hard to tell if people never heard of Time Bandits.

Plus I want to add, I am a grand space battle movie. And it sounds like you do also from the last ACOCO. While I like Last Starfighter and Star Wars (among a few others) I want a space battle. Closest to come to it, in my opinion, was the underwater battle in GI Joe. Wouldn't mind one of those also.

Keep on Drinking on.

I wanted to thank you for your Christmas Carol review. I found it very helpful. It really rounded out what the other guys said in their review so I had a clearer picture. Looking forward to taking the fam to this AFTER Thanksgiving.

Hi Carlyle,

Do you write politics for any sites? I thoroughly enjoy your political tweets. It's quite refreshing.

Have a great weekend. Cheers.

Hey Carlyle!

I just checked out your profile for the first time and I was curious about a couple things.

First off, are you looking forward to Avatar? Do you think James Cameron is going to show audiences how 3D films should be done?

Secondly, I noticed Gummo is on your "worst films" list. I'm just wondering, how do you feel about the other films of Harmony Korine?
