I had to see "American Psycho" twice to decide how I felt about it, but I really like it now. It's decidedly different in theme from the book, though, which I didn't enjoy at all.
Love Ween to the point of owning pretty much everything they've ever done. I also dig Neutral Milk Hotel although I am mainly just familiar with "In the Aeroplane, Over the Sea". I haven't heard the other two bands you mentioned but I will seek them out, thanks.
I listen to Vampire Weekend a little, but Pavement..."Slanted and Enchanted" and "Crooked Rain Crooked Rain" never left my CD player for about a year a piece.
It seems like most times when a band I really like breaks up and then reforms later, they kind of suck but I would like to see an attempt at a new Pixies record and maybe Rocket From the Crypt, Cop Shoot Cop, and the Dead Kennedys.
Ok, here you go. Be prepared because when people ask me to watch their stuff, I'm honest. What I liked was your cinematography. You have a good eye developing there for shots although you still need some more practice. The editing is a bit choppy but not bad, although there are a few continuity errors. I assume the soundtrack is stolen from elsewhere but you use it well. What doesn't work is the script and the acting. The guy who gets murdered at first puts up no fight at all and the second murdered guy is physically completely unconvincing. It looks like he wants to start a school yard push fight with the murderer. The murderer I didn't have too much trouble with till the end when I had nothing to make me believe his sudden transformation back into a killer or reason for running when the first dude is already dead and buried. I couldn't hear most of the dialogue though, so maybe I just missed something. Next time, buy a decent mike and boom (you can put this together pretty cheaply) or buy wireless mikes, and do some dubbing after the fact where necessary. The biggest problem was the story which seemed pointless and was uninteresting to me. Why do I care why this guy is killing? Why do I care about the other roommate? What the hell was the pre-bloodied knife doing in the woods at the end? Why do they wear the same clothes the whole time? If the roommate suspected the murderer, then why didn't he tell the police (or at least stop hanging out with the dude)? Why did they bury the friend with an obviously older tombstone?
So don't take any of this wrong. I'm saying this stuff to try to help you out for future projects. Like I said, I'm honest when asked to watch stuff. Remember, it's more important to get a project right than to get it done fast, especially at the earlier stages of making film. You're learning as you go.
