I didn't mind Superman Returns, I liked Brandon Routh in it and also Kevin Spacey. The story was a bit lacking though, and not really that memorable. The last half hour or so was pretty bad.
It was just another blockbuster at the end of the day, it wasn't bad but it didn't have that extra bit of quality in any area to elevate it, like the recent Batman films and Star Trek.
I'm not sure about Sherlock yet, but Avatar seems to be worth a look. I'm really looking foreward to Shutter Island though, looks badass.
Yeah I enjoyed the film for mostly nostalgia, but the acting was pretty good and the special effects were fucking gorgeous. The sequel will hopefully build on what they got right.
The powers that be really need to do something good with Star Wars. As a guy who didn't completely hate the prequels (except Attack Of The Clones which I detest) I hope that something can be salvaged. Its weird how other media for Star Wars is such high quality, like the videogames, but the recent movies have fallen short. I love the original trilogy though, classics all three!
