Locked up, key thrown away: Underrated and forgotten horror classics (That the young’uns should see)

The new generation of horror movies seem to be taking their cue from their fiendish friends of the 80’s.
Perhaps “Saw’s” Billy the Puppet conjours up creepy feelings not felt since Chucky’s first outing. The sex/violence formula of the “Hostel” films calls back to, well any of the Friday the 13th series.
These films from the 80’s are indeed classics of the genre – who doesn’t love a stalker? From Jack Torrance, the man with the axe to Jason Vorhees, everyone’s favorite hockey fan.
It’s really a… Continue

1. True Romance

Most of you reading this will have seen this movie and while it’s full of gun fights, drug deals and a little stabbing, it’s also a very romantic movie. Not just… Continue

Sorry for the late, late reply man.

Im afraid that i wont be heading to japan this year after all- The reason is down to an ugly combination of poor scheduling and buget troubles (Damn the reccession). However, i will be making a trip to japan in the not too distant future and if your still around, it would be good to link you (how long are you staying in japan for by the way?)

Also, you mentioned on your profile that "they live " is one of your favourites. I finally got round to seeing it- its a classic! its a smart film with a great, very poigniant, thought provoking concept . Also, that roddy piper vs keith david fight is the stuff of legends lol.

As far as being Irish.....

Yeah, I've got Irish blood running through me a lot. My Grandfather and Grandmother were actually born in Ireland before coming to the states as children. My dad's dad was also conceived in Ireland but born in America. Only my Dad's mother isn't Irish, but she is Scottish. I've got so much Irish blood in me, that I'm around 75%-80% Irish blood, just born in America. lol

From what I've found out, the movie is really just a "retelling" of the show's story. it's almost like they did it as a "special", and there are a few things that they changed. The movie isn't actually considered part of "Doctor Who" show because of those changes, but I saw the trailer for it, and you are right. It has that bit of hocky 60's feel to it that looks like it would be a blast to watch. I could get it on Amazon.com, but it's a Region 2 DVD only, and not sure it would work on Region 1 DVD players. However, the Manufacturer doesn't make them any more so the only way to get it right now would be to have someone sell you a used version.

I'll have to track down a copy of the movie with Peter Crushing in it, I've not seen it. While I've been aware of it, I've just never gotten my hands on a copy.

Soon as I can see it, I'll let you know. Might not make it into a "blog" as I'm focusing mostly on the television series and not the whole history of Doctor Who, but I'll tell you this much. I'm working on the companions now, and get over 90 pages of info to condense to a more manageable format. lol

Hey there!..=D
3 years?..really?....it must be interesting to have that kind of experience....to live somewhere different...learn about another culture....was that always a dream of yours?

Grumpy Sensei?..that's so cute..LOL....sunburn is never good....LOL..I had a bad time with it on 4th of July..the day was overcast..I should have known better...BUT..sadly I did not..LOL..I actually burned my scalp!..ouch...
But that sounds like a fun place..=D

Mom's still visiting?...=D..it can be tiring trying to entertain family & friends, especially with a sunburn....2 years is a long time..=(..so any plans to go back home or do you plan on staying there indefinitely?
You are a teacher, right?....
Back to the hotel..eh?....well, I guess that makes the entertaining part a bit easier, huh?
Do you mean the new Rock Band? I wonder how that is....let me know, ok?
Crank 2? I wish I had seen Crank 1..=D..behind on that.....I did want to see it....
I wouldn't bother with Wolverine..I am not a comics person, but I love Wolverine..=D, so I went to see it..but it was disappointing...I mean it is ok..better than most..but you will survive not seeing it... LOL.....
That seems ridiculous that you have to wait, so long to see a movie....=(

My Summer has been pretty good..I am not a big fan of the heat either..luckliy for the first time in years, we didn't need to have the air on much...lalley the weather has been so ideal...hoping this means we are getting an Indian Summer...
Right now I am on a short term disability, since I had surgery on my left foot...needed to have the bone shaved down...I had these fissures that were getting tangled up in the nerve & it was causing pain that I couldn't seem to alleviate in any way...so I have about 4 more weeks, before I go back to work..it is still hurting & swelling up...hopefully I will be able to get a shoe on soon, but I am still wearing one of those boot things....

Just saw 9 yesterday & loved it....good movie....
Thanks for getting back to me....nice to hear from you....

What is the time difference from here?...
Right now it is 09:09 pm.....
Take Care& when you get a chance drop me a line now & again..would love to hear what life is like for you over there..maybe I can learn something as well...=D

I am doing ok, I guess..just taking it day to day...the weather has been great..I hope that means we will have a nice Indian Summer.....
Wish Kuto would drop me a line...I guess that is all we can do..wait & see..=(...poor guy!
Thanks for getting back to me...
I appreciate it very much..=D

OK, I'm sorry to those overly obessed Dilla fans but I'm tired of people saying he's the best or that no one will ever match Dilla's skills because I can honestly say that I've heard people make better beats than him. I love Dilla but I think most...

The upcoming martial arts movie. What are your thoughts? Me personally, it could be a really cool and fun ninja movie or it can be a stereotyical ninja movie
