American: The Bill Hicks Story

Bill Hicks needs to have a word created just for him, because the term 'Legend' just isn't sufficient enough in my eyes.Out of all the role models or individuals I've looked up too who are…Continue

I completely agree about Del Toro. He has to be one of my favorite story tellers in recent years. I've read the Hobbit, and I can not express how excited I am for his version to come out. =D. I admittedly love the Hellboy movies, but he's the type of "superhero" I like to see. I agree with the fact that Burton, while his versions of movies, tend not to be bad, you just can't top the originals. I saw Alice in Wonderland opening day at the IMax in 3D, and while I did find the film fun and entertaining, the story just didn't hold up. If the film would have been in 2D and wouldn't have had the amazing cast that it had, I believe it wouldn't have been nearly the movie it turned out to be. Burten to take on the Adams family? I hadn't heard that, sounds like it'll be great or a complete disaster. haha. I really enjoyed the original also. Hayao is a Japanese writer/dictor/producer who does animated films. His best known work would have to be on the award winning
Spirited Away, which was amazing. I would recommend most all of his films, though some of my favorites are: Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and My Neighbor Totoro. His movie Princess Mononoke is one movie that helped change my life.

I'm glad someone else had the same type of reaction I had to Dead Poets Society. We watched it in my english class and a friend of mine and I called our teacher, "Oh Captin, My Captin" for a couple of months. So I got stuck with Nuwanda and we called her Todd for the some time. haha. I highly enjoyed Good Will Huntingm though I haven't see the other. I'll have to check it out though.

I regretably haven't seen The Shawshank Redemption. =(. When I saw the Dark Knight I went from disliking Batman, to actually thinking he was cool. haha. That would be awesome. I want to be Spiderman.... Wolvarine would be cool too. lol

I love comidies also, but I have to admit that I'm a sucker for a great thriller. I'm completely fasinated by Del Toro, he is one of my favorite directors of all time. Burton is good too, but I have found his recent works lacking, with the exception of Sweeny Todd. One of my favorite writters is Hayao Miyazaki, I find his works interesting and fun. I can't argue with lighting up and watching Kevin Smith, who is one of my favorite guilty pleaures. LOL. One movie that I have to say changed my ulitimate out look on live was Dead Poets Society. While some people don't like this movie, I found that it made me take a second glance at my outlook on life. Having a no. 1 movie on the other hand is a no, it's too hard to choose. It depends on what I'm in the mood to watch. How about yourself? Any no. 1's? Any movies that changed your life?

short reviews of new release movies for www.chiconightout.com. you can send them through the site to info@chiconightout.com. We're trying to play nice so please...no flamming (although I did rip Troy Duffy's ass on rotten Tomatoes but he deserved it). We're big Inde fans so if you come across a good one...we want to hear about that too! Wouldn't you have loved to have been at the screening of El Mariachi?
