I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)
Hi Aaron,
I hope you enjoy reading my movie review of Fun Size.
Please let me know what you thought of it.
I'm sorry I couldn't post this movie review on time but all my homework from school and my book report on Marley and Me kept me from finishing it.
Three weeks ago, my mom, my stepdad, my little brother Jean Marco and I went to the movie theater to go see the 11:45 A.M. movie presentation of Fun Size.
I'm kind of disappointed that my movie theater wasn't playing The Perks of Being a Wallflower or Frankenweenie in 3D but I wanted to see Fun Size because the story sounded fun and I'm also a big fan of Victoria Justice. I think she’s a funny and gorgeous T.V. actress, I like her show Victorious on Nickelodeon and I also like some of the songs that she writes and sings for that fun and entertaining show.
I must admit to you that due to it’s use of sexual innuendo and little profanity, I was nervous that my parents would punish me for seeing a movie like this with them but thankfully the sexual innuendo was mild.
Fun Size takes place in Cleveland, Ohio on Halloween and it's about a 19 year old teenage girl named Wren Desantis (played by Victoria Justice) who gets invited to a Halloween Party hosted by her high school crush Aaron Riley (played by Thomas McDonell) along with her best friend April (played by Jane Levy). But Wren's mom Joy, (played by Chelsea Handler) tells her that she can't go to Aaron's party unless she takes her little trouble-making but likeable brother Albert (played by Jackson Nicoll), trick or treating for an hour while she goes to a Halloween party, dressed up as Britney Spears with her boyfriend Keevin (played by Josh Pence). So Wren dresses up as Dorothy from The Wizard of OZ, April dresses up as a sexy kitty and Albert dresses up as as a one-armed Spider-Man and they go get candy. But Wren accidently looses Albert inside a haunted house and he goes to a get snow cone drink and some candy in a convenience store where he meets the nice clerk named Fuzzy (played by Thomas Middleditch). Fuzzy tells Albert to help him get his revenge on his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend and Albert agrees. With the help of their two friends Roosevelt, dressed up as a teenage version of Theodore Roosevelt (played by Thomas Mann) and Peng, dressed up as an old man (played by Osric Chau) Wren and April drive around Cleveland in Roosevelt's car trying to find Albert before Wren's mom comes home from the Halloween party.
Fun Size was written by Max Werner and I thought he did a great job writing this very funny and charming story.
Victoria Justice makes a charming debut into movie acting by making Wren a smart and likeable character, Thomas Mann and Victoria have a great chemistry on screen and most of the laughs of the movie come whenever Jackson Nicoll is acting in a scene with Thomas Middleditch, Chelsea Handler also does a good job as Wren's mom and Jane Levy and Osric Chau have the funny moments or lines involving sexual innuendo.
Fun Size marks the directing debut of Josh Schwartz and I thought he directed this movie with a very nice and sweet touch.
Deborah Lurie who did some nice but uncredited additional music for Spider-Man 3 writes and composed some lively music for Fun Size.
I liked the great message in Fun Size which is about Wren learning that the little things in life that she doesn't notice so much are the most important things in life.
Even though Fun Size has a lot of funny moments and lines involving sexual innuendo, it's still a fun, funny and sweet movie with a great message that you would expect to be produced by Nickelodeon Movies and my family and I liked the movie. So if you like Victoria Justice and Victorious, then I think you will like Fun Size just like I did.
I give Fun Size 4 ½ out of 5 stars and I hope you enjoy Fun Size.
I thought The Dark Knight Rises was SO WORTH waiting 221 hours to see because in my opinion it was the most perfect, hugely entertaining and emotional conclusion to a Superhero trillogy since Spider-Man 3 because in my opinion there are not any other threequels in a superhero trillogy that ended a series perfectly other than Spider-Man 3.
I thought the screenplay written by Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan was fantastic, the acting performances by Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were excellent.
Christopher Nolan´s directing was incredible, the action scenes were epic and exciting the best best I have seen since The Avengers and as always Hans Zimmer creates and composes some awesome and epic music for The Dark Knight Rises.
I also liked the great message in The Dark Knight Rises which is about Batman and the cops of Gotham City learning to get the coruage to do the right thing during hard times no matter what Bane or the other people of the city thought of them.
Overall I think The Dark Knight Rises is the best movie of 2012.
I give The Dark Knight Rises 5 out of 5 stars.
Please let me know what you thought of my review.
What did you think of The Dark Knight Rises Aaron ?
Hi Aaron,
Now that Ivé seen and loved The Dark Knight Rises, I was just wondering did you see yourself in the stands during the football sequence ?
By the way what did you think of my movie review for The Amazing Spider-Man ?
I thought The Amazing Spider-Man was a decent adaptation of the outstanding comic book character that focuses more on the character development of Peter Parker's realationship with Gwen Stacy and his hard journey on becoming Spider-Man than mixing character development with big, long and entertaining action scenes like Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire did with their outstanding trillogy.
The movie has a great story wittten by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves about Peter Parker trying to solve the mystery of the disappearance of his parents and heading into a relationship with Gwen Stacy while batting The Lizard and learning what it real means to be a responsible person and hero but I was disappointed that the mystery of the disappearance of his parents was not sloved untill the sequel.
Andrew Garfield does a good job with the stunts in the action scenes as Tobey Maguire did but Andrew only had like 5 quips to say in this movie and Tobey's Peter Parker/Spider-Man said 27 quips in the first 3 movies but it's better than no quips at all and as Peter Parker he has a good relationship with Emma Stone. But to me Peter Parker is a likeable academically brilliant but unpopular high school senior student who is bitten by a genetically modified spider and gains spider-like abilities who later became a superhero, a Columbia College physics student and photographer for The Daily Bugle as Tobey played him.
Andrew plays Peter as a selfish and ungrateful jerk who hates being responsible for the things he forgets to do and I hated that but the rest of the good cast do a fantastic job with their roles. I also hated Uncle Ben´s death scene because it lacked any sad emotions.
The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb and I thought he did a great job directing the scenes between Peter and Gwen as his did in another one of my all time favortie romantic comedy-drama movies (500) Days of Summer he does an impressive job directing the action scenes.
The special and visual effects and action scenes in this movie are cool, the message in this movie is strong and the music alright.
Despite that the story is disappointing and some of the acting performances are terrible the other acting performances, directing and the visuals make The Amazing Spider-Man worth watching but I still like the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire outstanding trillogy better because those movies were fun, lighthearted and very entertaining and they really defined what Spider-Man is all about.
I hope the sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man are better. I think the bad guy will be Mysterio.
So I give this movie a Matinee!
Please let me know what you thought of my review.
