Hmmm.. missed the part about corruption in the public schools. But guess who gets money from the goverment and doesn't spend it on students and teachers, can you guess? c'mon you can do it. Time to grow up kid.
......catholic schools and charter schools have produced more with less money......."
you do realize that NOT ONLY are these schools getting subsidies from the government, they're also getting tuition from their students. HOW IS THAT LESS MONEY
.i'll spare you my politics if you spare me your bs.
Chicago Urban Prep Academy is a charter school. Looks like they are getting results like other charter schools as well. The public school system is politically corrupt, but I guess you haven't seen documentaries like Waiting for Superman or The Cartel, or even watched or read any news story on the subject (John Stossels: Stupid in America). You go straight for the conservatives being the reason why they can't get anything done. Just remember Catholic schools and charter schools have produced more with less money. And please, spare me your politics.
charter schools are nothing but a bogus conservo canard of channeling dwindling taxpayer money from public schools to a handful of "specialty" schools that push their own propaganda (like creationism over evolution).
the public PAYS for continued tax cuts to the rich who don't actually need it, and yet the REPUGS keep pushing these tax cuts. and so public schools suffer. as a result, conservatives have a reason to deride failing public schools, who were failing BECAUSE of the policies they've initiated regarding tax cuts and attacks on teacher pensions.
I wouldn't worry so much about the 0% news coverage. I would worry more about the groups who are against charter schools because they are an alternative to the failing public school system like the CPS.
