C posted a blog postI have found Hypatia to be a rather fascinating woman. IQ estimating between 170-210, editing what we would now use for geometry (Her father's criticisms of Elucid's Elements) and creating a locket that would be able to map out the stars. All her documents burned to the ground due to an invasion to destroy Alexandria or "Land of Wisdom", so whether she existed or not (Along with her works if she did exist) is a mystery. Genius, Mathematician, Astronomer, Neo-Platoist, Inventor, Philosopher and ALL WOMAN!
Life is an unfoldment, and the further we travel the more truth we can comprehend. To understand the things that are at our door is the best preparation for understanding those that lie beyond.
Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all.

Comment by Chaos Jumper on March 15, 2013 at 11:55pm I have heard of the movie, but I haven't gotten around to watching it, with school and all. I'll give it a go over the summer.
Comment by Mr. E on March 15, 2013 at 11:12pm You should watch Agora if you haven't. They sanatize the way she died, because the reality was WAY worse, but it's a good flick.
Comment by Chaos Jumper on March 15, 2013 at 11:09pm I know. I don't think there is an actual picture of Hypatia since her entire library was destroyed and again there isn't a lot of proof of her existence besides commentary. I just liked this picture out of the few that were made.
Comment by GodDamnRobots on March 15, 2013 at 10:07pm that's not Hypatia in the pic. You probably knew that but just for others.
