RESIDENT EVIL: Racoon City Chronicles
FADE IN:
EXT. THE EMPTY STREETS OF RACCOON CITY – NIGHT
A Mid-western town in the heart of America, WE ARE LOOKING DOWN FROM A HIGH ANGLE. We see cars parked along the curbs of the streets. We hear THE SOUND OF A STRONG WIND. In the far corner from our view a SHADOW can be seen moving around.
EXT. ALLEYWAY – SAME TIME
CLOSE ON A SECTION OF PAVEMENT as we hear THE.SOUNDS OF SLUGGISH FOOTSTEPS approaching. A SHADOW appears at the bottom of the frame. It gets longer and takes on the shape of a man.
A BEAT.
WE PULL UP TO SEE . . .
Two HOBOS, JAMIE AND SKEET walking slowly down the alleyway munching on a green apple that they are sharing. SKEET is a short white male in his mid thirties. JAMIE is a tall black male in his late forties, both men look disheveled.
SKEET
You always get the bigger piece.
JAMIE
I’m always the one finding us food.
SKEET
That’s not true.
JAMIE
Yes it is and you know it. Now stop hollering
out here before someone hears us.
SKEET munches on his piece of the apple when he notices something on the floor and crouches down and picks it up. JAMIE continues down the alleyway.
IT’S A GOLD NECKLACE.
SKEET
Look at this Jamie.
JAMIE
Fool, I told you too. . .
JAMIE sees the gold necklace.
JAMIE
Let me see that.
JAMIE walks up to SKEET and snatches the necklace from his hand and then bites down on it. JAMIE then examines the necklace.
JAMIE
It’s real.
SKEET snatches it away from him.
JAMIE
What are you doing?
SKEET
Making sure it’s safe.
JAMIE and SKEET continue down the alleyway.
A BEAT
A WHITE TRUCK PULLS UP AT THE END OF THE ALLEYWAY IN FRONT OF JAMIE AND SKEET.
JAMIE sees the TRUCK and WE CAN SEE FEAR IN HIS EYES.
JAMIE
Skeet, they’re coming for us.
SKEET AND JAMIE stand still. The TRUCK BACKS UP AND THEN TRY’S TO TURN INTO THE ALLEYWAY.
JAMIE
Go, go, go!
SKEET and JAMIE start running in the opposite direction of the TRUCK.
CLOSE ON
THE TRUCK SPEEDS DOWN TOWARDS THE MEN.
BACK TO SCENE
The TRUCK is approaching the two men as they RUN FOR THEIR LIVES!
THE TRUCK’S ENGINE ROARS
The MEN exit the alleyway and run down the empty streets of Raccoon City.
The Truck stops at the end of the alleyway.
JAMIE
HELP US! SOMEBODY HELP US!
The MEN run to CLOSED STORES BANGING ON THE DOORS.
Then HEADLIGHTS from a CAR can be seen from a distance.
The MEN notice the car and turn back to see THE TRUCK PULL OUT INTO THE STREET.
SKEET runs to the middle of the STREET and tries to FLAG DOWN THE VEHICLE.
JAMIE follows SKEET.
The passenger door of the TRUCK swings open and the figure of a man can be seen jumping out.
SKEET
HELP US!
The CAR APPROACHES THE MEN as they run up to the driver’s side window. The windows are tinted and we can’t see who the driver is.
JAMIE
Please sir, you have to help us.
The doors unlock and JAMIE AND SKEET hop in the backseat. The door slams behind them.
INT. CAR – SAME TIME
JAMIE AND SKEET are out of breath. JAIME looks at SKEET and starts to laugh.
The car pulls away and drives by a FIGURE standing by the TRUCK.
SKEET
Oh mister, you just saved our lives.
Th..Thank you sir.
SKEET starts to smile and looks over at JAMIE.
Suddenly the driver SLAMS ON THE BRAKES! The MEN are thrown forward and then look up at the driver.
JAMIE
Hey man, what are you doing?
EXT. CAR – RACCOON CITY STREETS – SAME TIME
A BEAT
The car is stopped in the middle of an intersection on the empty streets of Raccoon City.
INT. CAR – SAME TIME
JAMIE AND SKEET look at each other in fear when.
CLICK, CLICK.
THE DOORS IN THE BACK SEAT ARE LOCKED BY THE DRIVER.
SKEET and JAMIE grab the door handles and start to pull on them but the doors wont budge.
SKEET
Mister open up the doors. Let us out.
JAMIE
This aint funny man!
The sound of the car getting into gear can be heard.
EXT. CAR – RACCOON CITY STREETS – SAME TIME
The CAR’S REVERSE LIGHTS ARE ON. THE ENGINE ROARS THREE TIMES as the driver is pressing on the gas peddle while holding onto the brakes. Then the car SPPEDS DOWN THE STREET IN REVERSE TOWARDS THE TRUCK and when it’s a few feet away the CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP.
INT. CAR – SAME TIME
The TWO MEN pick themselves off the floor of the backseat when the CAR DOORS ARE UNLOCKED. The men try to bring themselves together but badly bruised their heads during the ride. The back doors swing open and we see . . .
TWO MEN ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DOORS WEARING SKI MASKS and SWAT TEAM UNIFORMS. They drag JAIME and SKEET out of the car.
EXT. RACCOON CITY STREETS – SAME TIME
The TWO MEN IN UNIFORM start beating JAMIE and SKEET with ELECTRIC STUN GUNS, and STICKS.
JAMIE and SKEET start to scream in pain.
After the TWO MEN IN UNIFORM are finished with their attacks they drag JAMIE and SKEET by their legs to the TRUCK.
Another MAN in UNIFORM stands at platform holding a rifle.
JAMIE and SKEET are thrown on top of the platform by the OTHER MEN.
MAN #1
How many is that?
MAN #3
Enough. Let’s get them to Arklay Mountain.
THE MAN ON THE PLATFORM lifts open the back door of the TRUCK to reveal. . .
INT. TRUCK CARGO HOLD – SAME TIME – CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT
THIRTY OR FORTY HOMELESS PEOPLE ALL BLOODY AND BRUISED INSIDE A SMALL CAGE.
The MAN IN UNIFORM kicks JAMIE and SKEET inside and then unlocks the padlock on the CAGE. The other TWO MEN in uniform get in the throw JAMIE and SKEET in the CAGE.
THE MOANS OF THE PEOPLE CAN BE HEARD GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER.
The Cage is locked and the THREE MEN IN UNIFORM step out of the back of the TRUCK and SLAM THE BACK DOOR SHUT.
EXT. RACCOON CITY STREETS – SAME TIME – CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT
One of the SWAT members is holding the GOLD NECKLACE SKEET FOUND and puts it around his neck.
As he walks out of frame we can see the CAR also pulling away and slowly disappearing into the night.
