I'd love to get some feedback on this, particularly from people who aren't Irish, just to see if the language and syntax makes sense to people unfamiliar with it.
But yeah, comment as you see fit. Try to provide some explanation as to what can be improved and some solutions if you can. Oh and if you are easily offended by the things guys think, do and talk about I wouldn't read this if I were you as it's heavily influenced by experiences I've had with male friends.
The Title is a working one, I'm just waiting for something good to hit me.
Hi. I'm reading it just now. But right off the bat I have to ask.If that's your name there, are you cool with it being seen here. I only ask, casuse you've chosen this Spill name and that's who are you are here, ya know? Does that make sense at all?
No no no, it's a pseudonym. Holy shit I spelt that correctly first time round. I'm quite impressed with myself. But yeah, my name is not coming out just yet don't worry.
I made the terms a link to their Wikipedia page. Here is the quick of those link's info:
Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share.
The public domain is a range of abstract materials—commonly referred to as intellectual property—which are not owned or controlled by anyone. The term indicates that these materials are therefore "public property", and available for anyone to use for any purpose.
In any case, the internet is full of people who steal other people's creative works. It's not always deliberate or an exact copy, but no one's work is safe if posted on an online community.
As a form of respect of writer's rights and not to 'take' ideas from other peoples online works, I don't read them unless I knew for sure their work is legal their work.
To illustrate how some people are so evil they steal other people's ideas here is a real life scenario from a day in my 6th grade elementary class:
We had a substitute teacher for my English Arts class. He was cool because he told us he made comic books. He was fun because he gave us a drawing assignment. He had us draw our own made up comic book super hero. That was great for me, because I loved books even back in the 6th grade. It was also great because he made it a point to tell us that we draw a brand new super hero and not simply draw Spider-Man or Bat Man. He was very helpful since he brought his own drawing supplies (paper, pencils, and coloring pencils) to our English Language class.
At the end of the class he gathered all our drawings and told us that when he left and went back to Los Angeles he was going to chose the best original super hero and send us a prize.
All the kids went 'Wow! I hope he likes my super hero the best, so I can get a prize!'
No one got a prize or anything. Since I liked and drew my own original super hero comics even before this comic book artist substitute teacher showed up, I didn't draw one of my pre-existing original super heroes.
So, I made up a brand new super hero on the spot. I made some guy with a pointy cape a sharped eyed mask, and some chains. My on the spot creation had a mostly black costume, with some white stripes up the front of the chest, only white for his eyes, and a red cape. I drew fire around him to make him look cool. Since there are tons of stray dogs in my town I learned the word 'breed'. So, that's the name I wrote for my brand new super hero: Breed.
So, even at the age of a 6th grade student, I was worried my work would be stolen. No way I was going to draw 'Water Man', even though he is a only a mad shaped body of water. Yep, we never heard back from the sneaky Mr. Todd.
Okay, hopefully you get the joke. I didn't invent the design for Spawn and Todd McFarland was not my 6th grade substitute teacher that stole my original design for a super hero and use the synonym for 'Breed' to name the hero Spawn.
The sad thing is, the rest of my story actually happened. An aspiring comic book artist was a substitute teacher in my class and he made us draw our own original super heroes, took our drawings, and told us when he got to whatever city that sounds impressive to little kids, he would send the creator of the 'best brand new super hero' a prize.
Matt, Jack & Jon are three eloquent young gents. They philosophize, externalize, and harmonize on the most pressing subjects of the modern age. Actually, they mostly just talk about movies and current events, but the presentation is what counts.
I know, you thought this was done already, but with 2010 coming and new nominations starting next month, It's time to read the 2009 winners
