What are your reasons for joining the Spill movie community?

It started when I first saw Spill posted on my homepage. I saw a few reviews, the first I saw was AVP Requiem. Then I went on the sight and saw every review ever posted on Spill. Then I realized all the other things I could do here so I finally joined.

I like movie reviews in general.the first time I was introduced to spill was when I was searching vids from cinemassacre.All of a sudden,I see this review of Cloverfield and I thought that these guys were really funny.

I really can't remember how I found spill, but I've been following this site for about half a year now. It wasn't until I discovered the LEOG and Let's Do This shows that I decided to make an account.

The reason why I joined Spill, was because of the not only informative, but hilarious film reviews. I have tried to get involved more with the community, and I've gone a bit, written a blog and got involved in discussions, and even tried to get my questions answered on the weekly shows, but my life outside of the internet has been ridiculously busy since joining.

I made the conscious decision that graduating well from University this summer took priority over bitching about Watchmen. Anyway, hopefully once everything calms down a bit then I will hopefully become a prominent player in the community. I hope that answers your question Renegade.

Simply put, the community itself. This is one of the rare corners on the Internet where readers are still reasonably respectful among themselves and toward the creators.

I write professionally for various websites, which requires me to read all the comments I get, of course, and I always despair at the number of insults and racial slurs (my pen names, like myself, are Asian) that come out on a daily basis.

Spill is devoid of all that (and I want to emphasize how special that is). I'd been lurking for half a year and thought, "Hey, these look like good people! I want to be part of that!"

I hope this answers your question, Renegade. Work and personal affairs are keeping me extremely busy right now, but I'll try to contribute more in the near future. I don't want to be pointless! Thanks for a great forum topic.

I kinda thought that the reviews they did especially on Watchmen kinda of made me respect these guys even more since they never tried to sugar coat on the films apparent flaws (I still thought it was a good movie) and always gave their honest opinions about a film.

I can't remember what the first Spill.com review I saw was... but I saw one on YouTube, and watched a second on YouTube, then I came to the site.

Over the course of a week and a half, at my day-job, I'd go through each and every Movie Review. Each review that went by, I started enjoying the chemistry and dynamic between each Spill.com "character", started to absorb the various in-jokes... and when I saw the "Step up 2 the Streets" review, I LOST MY SHIT. it cracked me up. That was the video that made Spill.com a daily visit.

It was the Podcasts (LEOG in particular, I love movies but I'm a comic-guy at my core) that prompted me to become a member and star to leave comments, and take part in the community. I'm not exaggerating or kissing ass when I say this, I'm just speaking the truth. Spill.com is my favorite website.
