Find out why I joined spill and why I started this group.

When I first learned of the Spill Community. I saw some very funny and great animated movie reviews and that was almost enough reason for me to join LOL.
Then when I joined, I started reading people's posts and blogs about movies so I could learn more about the people who make them and the actors who star in them as well, because I knew so little.

I Know with out a doubt I still have a lot of learning still left to do and I am doing my best to contribute what I can to this community in a positive and funny way.
Whether its joining a group, sharing a opinion on or off a discussion, being a friend or making friends, and talking about MOVIES.

I am putting an emphasis on the word "MOVIES" because correct me if I am wrong, but this is a MOVIE community right? This is not myspace right?
Yes it is a great place to meet great and different people but the one fact remains why we or at least myself joined here. MOVIES and to learn more about them in all aspects no matter how you do it.

I always try to greet people who join this community like so many of you did for me in the beginning. I still thank all of you for that!
it is one of the reasons why I like to greet new people.
I guess I am just tired of seeing people who join for no reason and take up space and have no positive contributions to this MOVIE site.
They join and do nothing at all! So they join to be just dead members?! ???

So let me clarify what I am seeing. People join and then do ABSOLUTELY nothing.
they don't say hello back. they do not try to make friends or even post a song on their page or change their page.

So maybe {being the nice people we are} we can show these people what to do or how to do it right or get involved if we post here why we joined and maybe it can inspire those that have joined to have a POSITIVE purpose here in the community we all here call Spill.

And after I joined, I was a bit quite to be honest but over time grew confident and wanted to give back to the Spill community that had given me so much already. That's why I organized the Spill Party and that's why I'm still trying to organize even bigger, grander things and maybe give Britain a larger presence than it currently has on this great American website. Who knows, hopefully in a few years this site will have a larger International recognition.

This is also the friendliest site I have encountered on the internet and haven't met any wankers yet, making this site feel truly unique.; ▶ Reply to This

It got featured and I kept writing. I can imagine that if you write three or four blogs, and put your best effort into it, that it can be frustrating to not get seen. Maybe that's why some profiles are now dead? But I agree, it is annoying seeing people comment but not write anything. I don't see the point. Is commenting that exciting? Perhaps people decided they made a mistake in joining? Who knows. They're never on so we can't ask them.

I would disagree with you when you say this is a Movie website. I know it is primarily a film site, but the site is expanding rapidly and with LEOG and all of its affiliates there is a great amount of room to move into literature, both written and comic book. Then there's also TV reviews and articles as well. If anything I'd say that this website is a pop culture website as much as anything else.; ▶ Reply to This
