We all love rap, but what are some of your favorite instrumental (or mostly instrumental) hip hop albums?

Here are the three that come to mind for me:

Lavabangers by Lazerbeak

Rock Creek Park by Oddisee

ZombieMusik by SidRoams

Since I'm from Australia, I'll pimp Hermitude first. Their new album is a little more techno-y, but still quite good, with a few exceptions. All their other stuff is more traditional instrumental hiphop. This song is from their new album:

Here's a guy who's totally unknown but really deserves far more attention than he's given. He has a fair few albums up for really cheap downloads. Throw some money his way.

This isn't technically hiphop, but great anyway. These guys do kinda heavy darkjazzy-type instrumental covers of hiphop songs. Pretty great shit

.

Here's a fairly traditional sounding but pretty good dude from Japan:

And here's a song from a fucking fantastic compilation album which is how I found out about Bugseed. If you like what you hear you can download it free here.

Here's some of the best experimental hiphop I know:

And here's some more well-known experimental hiphop:

If for some reason you don't know DJ Shadow, here's some of his mastery. All samples.

Here's another stellar and pretty well-known one. Any LEOG listeners may remember Cyrus using this song in a LEOG not too long ago.

And I think that'll do for me. I really love instrumental hiphop, and hope to discover some new wonders through this thread. Thanks a lot Jason for starting and contributors for contributing.

I would love for Dame Grease to put out an instrumental album

I gotta go with my man Pete Rock on this one.

Petestrumentals from 2001

Wow. An topic on instrumental hip-hop albums, and no mention of Donuts by J Dilla. SMH :P

I also like Instrumentalyst by Dr. Octagon & 2001 Instrumentals by Dr. Dre.
