Bashing on that mainstream shit!!!
I wonder why people are always bashing on the more popular Hip Hop artists. They say Underground is way better but most of the greatest rappers of all time were in fact mainstream like Notorious, Big Pun, Big L, Tupac, and Jay-Z. Even today the best rappers come from the mainstream like Kanye who is not the greatest rapper but he definitly brings up great topics in his song and knows how to make the best Hip Hop beats ever. Then we have Lupe Fiasco who is an awesome rapper and of course we have Common.

Most of the real emcees have had years of low album sales! Or have had the great honnor of being apart of the movement that was Yo Mtv raps. You have a select few that now make mainstream cash, aka white folks buy there shit now! Dont get mad white people,it's true.There just happens to be a whole lot more white folks here with the cash to legally get the music... The downside of this new market is.,It's a new market! They buy everything...
Big business knows this,and gives cash out to Tv and Radio to play trash and say it's gold. With no basis for what true Hip Hop is. This new mainstream market buys it up,No questions asked! Then you have the folks that are so damn good,They make Tv,They make Radio,They show up in movies,but still dont sell in real big numbers. It's nice to see great artist make Jay and Em,,, type cash, But i cry inside a little when Pop rap like the Ying Yang twins outshine great music! And that shit, I say is treason... It's not just the fault new fans...
This is where i offend the ladies just a bit,Stop buying all the damn music you hear at the club! It's club music,and it's a huge way to make the mainstream. When you ladies are all like,This is my favorite song,I can listen to this all day. Guess what... Guys are gonna buy that shit and play it all day just to get your attention! You have some of the best,from Jay Z,Meth and Red,Outcast with club songs. This is a good thing if you have maybe two club songs on your album.Even better if it's just a Hip Hop classic that plays in the club. For the most part it's just weak lyrics over a catchy beat!
This is where i defend Kanye. This guy is a producer first and emcee second! He makes a ton of club music,but it's good club music. He can also just flatout rap his ass off when feals the need to. His problem is himself, I don't blame the guy for doin his thing. It's his damn ego that hurts him... I thought the tantrums had stopped.
But this shit hit hard... Folks don't know how many Country fans are out there. Country music is a large profit genre! When Kanye fuct up that young girls award,Half of the folks that buy his shit wanted to smack him in the back of the head like a kid in Walmart! I hope the guy can pull it back together. All you gotta do is one thing Kanye, {Shut the fuck up} and make good music! Wait, two things... His ass needs to start rapin again. I'm lookin at you too {Andre}!

It's a good thought I know some independent fans argue you know so in so are so much better than like Lil Wayne and they want their artist to get rich and bigger and they feel rappers like LW are in the way but then there are some fans who I think feel that mainstream rap isn't positive,honest,art ect.some have a since of pride of being fans to independent guys because you see them come up and you really count as a fan and they need you more than you need them it's one of the three I think

Big L would have ended up as a mainstream rapper anyways and although there are alot of bad artists in mainstream rap most of them come and go. I'm surprised Soulja Boy is still making hits with his cheap generic beats and lame lyrics. The greatest rappers from the mainstream have came, saw and concured the charts, kept it real and still produce song after song since they came from the Underground and on to the mainstream.
