Gotta love The Office. My favorite show on TV right now behind Big Bang Theory and Community.

I am surprised a thread for this show wasnt made sooner!
ok i loved this show form the start and then i hated it around season 4 or 5. but there is something wrong with the new season... it is actually really goo so i think i will start watching again.
So far I've only seen the first 4 seasons, but I love it! I've got a lot of catching up to do! I'm not a huge Steve Carell fan, but he's absolutely brilliant in this. However, I've never actually had a chance to watch the British version of The Office.
I have a love and hate relationship with the US series. Loved season 2 & 3 (season 3 I thought did some things better than the UK series). But since season 4 they've become a stock standard sitcom which is what an adaptation of The Office shouldn't do. The reason this franchise has been sold to dozens of countries not to mention remade as well is due to just how relatable the characters and senarios are. It just bugs me when 70% of a season has these really stupid plotlines. I actually like it when they're selling paper (and now printers) or last year when they used the Finacial crisis. What I thought that the USA did better then the UK was that they sometimes showed Michael to be a great business man and for the past 3 seasons those moments are few and far between. But of course it doesn't matter what I think. Clearly people are watching it and like it, I guess if I were show runner i'd hold back on the wacky plotlines, heart first laughs second, cut it down to 6-8 episodes a season and write off half the cast not to mention make next season the last.

Steve Carell is leaving before the last episodes of the season:

Steve Carell will be leaving "The Office" early. The NBC comedy's executive producer, Greg Daniels, says Carell will be gone before the season-ending episodes in May. The final episodes of the season will focus on the scrambling to replace him at the Scranton branch of the mythical Dunder Mifflin paper company.

Carell had said previously that he was quitting the show to concentrate on his movie career. But NBC plans to press on without him.

NBC said Friday that Carell will leave with four episodes left in the season. That means his farewell episode will most likely come in April.

Ricky Gervais is going to be on The Office January 27th:

Ricky Gervais is due to appear in an upcoming episode of NBC's The Office.

The actor, who co-created and starred in the UK version of the comedy, will reprise his character David Brent for an episode that will air on January 27, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Insiders at the show said that the "small cameo" occurs when Brent runs into Steve Carell's character and Brent's US counterpart Michael Scott.

The instalment was filmed last year and had been planned as a surprise for fans, however, details of the appearance leaked today.

So.

Who cried at the end?

man that episode was great. if I weren't a robot I would consider crying.

In my place I submit this:

*sniff* I must have gotten something in my eye...... though how epic would it have been if they'd had the balls to call the episode Goodbye, Farewell and Amen rather then Goodbye Micheal :D
I have to admit, I have hated The Office pretty much all season, but this episode totally won me back.

I literally teared up at the end when Pam comes out of nowhere just as Michael leaves and then they hug. That was a beautiful moment.

Unfortunately, I had to watch the episode on NBC.com because the tape I recorded the last episode on started acting up and started getting scratchy after Community. And this was a new tape that I had just bought on Saturday, mind you.

Anyway, I loved this episode, it's sad to see Michael go and now, I'm wondering how this show will continue without Steve Carell?

Great farewell but boy was that last joke involving the Cake forced.
