Nice Grant. I like.

So Hale kicks it in a pretty remarkable fashion, did they really have to take out the back of the dude's head? Damn.
Ya, when I first saw him laying there I was like, "well, they're just going to have him live through this like everyone else survives freaky shit like that on this show", but then they showed the back of his head, and nope, that dude is dead...

You asked in the Lounge who we think did the hit. My guess is that it was the Irishman. When they showed him in Belfast going into that girls house with Able, I think he arranged the hit from there. It "could" have been the Mayans, as revenge for the Sons blasting a few of their guys away in the season final last year when they were taking out the Mayan escort around that White Supremacist guy, but this show has a way of glossing shit like that over, so my guess is it's the Irish guy.
So, it looks like in the trailer Jax is in jail in the beginning. Presumably for smashing in the head of the gunman. How can he get out of that? Will small town anger at the loss of their Chief Deputy allow his vigilante justice and just give him a pass on that?
I "thought" I heard him say in the previews that they were offering him some kind of "deal".
Don't forget that the dude who Jax beat the shit out of was partly responsible for the death of Hale, whom it appears has some powerful Charming residents as family. I'm guessing that will have some impact on the decision to let him go.
Good point.
Okay, I didn't even scroll down to see what you guys have said, but I'll be watching the episode in about an hour... :-)
Well, a lot of biker culture is clique-ish and the people sorta "stick to their own" so to more accurately portray these guys as tough asshole bikers they do act a bit racist. But, quite often we see SAMCRO deal with other biker gangs of other races and they generally come off as less racist than the bigger badguys they face each season.
Gotta love Stephen King playing a creepy ass dude named "Bachman".
I thought that was pretty cool as well. I wonder if it was his idea to get the squeeze on that actress? ;-)
Finally, the ending to this most recent ep has me interested in Sons again. I was feeling that the show had become really stale and I hated all of the characters, but the deal Jax makes had me suddenly quite intrigued again.
I still enjoy watching the show, but this is a conversation I've had with people in my office.

I'm fully aware that shows like "The Sopranos" and "The Shield" all have characters that are scumbags, but for some weird reason I somehow root for Tony and Vic. With Sons, I'm just watching it with a sort of detachment where it's compelling watching these people, but I'm in no way rooting for any character on the show. They're ALL scumbags, including Tara. A Doctor who literally beats up her boss at work, while in the "real" world her boss was "not" the bad guy here, as she's only trying to keep one the top Doctors at her hospital from constantly dealing with and bringing MAJOR criminals into the hospital.

Opie seemed "sort" of sympathetic for a while, but he's just as willing to murder people, and apparently forgive his gang buddies for murdering his wife and mother of his kids.

I could continue down the line but the point is, there isn't a single main character on this show that I feel one once of sympathy towards when "anything" bad happens to them, as they "all" have it coming.

Like I said above, I still enjoy and watch the show just to see how all these stories weave together, but I don't think of anyone on the show as someone I'm "rooting" for. Just my opinion. :-)
