My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Yes...there's a thread about My Little Pony on The TV Dudes. But you know what's shocking? This show is actually pretty amazing.
From what I've experienced, this show is getting lots of rave reviews and love from the Internet and Geeks in general. It's funny, it's charming, it's cute, and it has a great amount of humor as well as lessons to teach young children. As someone who grew up watching animation in the Early 90s, I've felt like today's cartoons are either too adult or too childish, and this show has that great balance that I think people of all ages can enjoy.
This show is created by Lauren Faust, who is the wife of Craig McCracken, but also worked with him on series like The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. And it really shows, because while this is very friendly and colorful for kids, there's a good sprinkling of jokes for older people to laugh at and enjoy. It gets really catchy too, because it has lots of wonderful songs and memorable characters that people can attach to.
But I'm curious what anyone here also thinks about this show. It's not on Cartoon Network, it's on the Network called "The Hub" which is ran by Hasbro Toys. But this is easily their best show, and there definitely have a group of producers and behind-the-scenes people who understand the show is popular. Every episode can be found on youtube without issue, and even small, geeky tidbits have caught on and lasted on the show. Google a character named "Derpy Hooves" if you don't believe me and Lauren Faust herself talks with people over her deviantart account. But let me assure you to any doubters, this is overall a great cartoons and the internet fucking loves it. You will find loads of funny pictures and jokes without blinking.

Not gonna lie...I effing love My Little Pony. I remember the old show was god awful. I got Korey to watch an episode and he liked it to...so there's no shame in liking this cartoon dammit! :-)

Props, Metalvirgin. Korey would love tthis show and I would love to hear spew jokes about screwing Rarity or something. I think episodes like Applebuck Season or Sonic Rainboom get people into the show the best.
Quick question, who is everypony's favorite character? Mine is Pinkie Pie, but everypony is different. -

Even I was skeptical, but what got me into the show is that some geeky people I know, who are the most snobby, judgmental, critical kinds of nerds who dissect anime and cartoons to their fullest extent actually love this show. It's freakishly catching on, but, clearly there has to be something good about it if you look at all of the internet following behind it. What's awesome for people like me, is that I can laugh at the captioned images and easily watch the show on youtube. Now, I'll probably buy the DVD when it comes out.
