If it's crap... We'll tell you

HEADS UP PEOPLE!!
{Now remember everything mentioned on this page right now is only speculation and not set in stone!!}

Well it looks like we might possibly have things narrowed down just a little bit.
We are looking at a possible date of August 22nd at Zilker park.
It would be a day time event for obvious reasons.

Also there is a possibility that no one will have to cook!!
With the proper authorization from Koreys people. We might be able hire a mobile BBQ catering company that would wheel in a huge BBQ system with all the food we need.
Have no worries you vegetarians.. there will be salad and maybe garden burgers I would think.

Only one thing is for certain right now!
There is going to be a party.

Korey tells me he should have a concrete game plan in about 3 weeks time. At which time he might post a video explaining the party itinerary just like the last time for the first party.

The only thing we need to really work on is a back up plan for the unlikely event that it does rain. Which brings me to the next topic.

Korey has heard our cries for him to show us his movie that he made called
2am and I think he may just do just that, but showing it at the BBQ poses a problem.

1.It will be broad day light so a projection system is not going to work, unless we have a building to use on the site of the park which might be possible.
2. Most parks close by dusk and its a 90 minute movie
So it might get shown at the Alamo draft house after the BBQ instead where the party might continue after the BBQ.
{good idea on Carlyle's part and thanks for ghostwriter for reminding us}.
Also, in the case of rain in the forecast, the BBQ idea might have to be scrubbed and everything might just happen at the Alamo draft house.

Now remember this is only a rough draft and nothing as of yet is final!
More info should be here in 3 weeks time.
In the mean time think of suggestions for food that you would like to see at the BBQ.
Please be realistic about the menu LOL.

the party will only be happening for one day and one day only and it unfortunately will not happen on the 4th because of people going out of town or being with family.
In so many ways though, I wish it could happen on the 4th.
That would be sweet.

You're welcome...I hate to see a good Carlyle idea go to waste.

I'm not a big cook out person, but the best thing to do is keep the food simple, hamburg, hotdog that kinda of stuff, we do that for our company cookout and the boss still manages to screw it up. When you tell him not to start cooking at 9AM and he does anyway....I leave it to you to figure out how stuff tastes by noon!

Heck I'm still trying to get to NYC....Korey promised to take me out to lunch...and NO MCD's!!!!

if people are bringing their kids I would make hot dogs but this is supposed to be a BBQ and BBQ sauce will go on everything that is made of meat LOL! { yes I know what I said ;) }

BBQ Chicken would be great I think with burgers and some corn on the cob, corn bread with honey butter, some fruit and vegetable platters, salads {regular and pasta}, macaroni and cheese and maybe have 7 up and Coke/Pepsi taps and bottled water. B.O.Y.B. on the beer and other beverages.
Just to name a few things.
Then Korey can have the left overs and he will finally have food in his fridge LOL.
{that boys eats out to much}

I followed the link to the park and I have to ask.
How much will the parking fee be if we are having this party on the weekend?

Reply to This

where does it say you have to pay?

Reply to This

It's above the History section.

But I'm sure it's just a small fee.

ah ic it now.
I am not sure how much it would be.
I am sure we can find out soon though, but remember that Zilker park is not a definite yet.
Although it does suit most of all our needs for the BBQ party from what I was told by the parks dept.
I just now emailed them about the cost so I should have a proper answer tomorrow.
