Dear the amazing LEOG,

What do you think will happen or predict in the next season of 'Once Upon a Time'? I thought for sure Emma was just going to start believing in Henry about the curse and season one was just for origin stories. I didn't think she was actually going to break the curse until the next season. But now that the spell is broken, I don't know what to expect. Also, I have not watched Lost, so I don't know the 'Lost' formula.

Hello Members of the League,

My question is simple. Why do you think we as a society want to see fairytales updated? Is it an attempt to relate these stories to the world around us? Or is it simply another example of trying to cash in on characters and stories out of copyright?

Dear LEOG,

                 While it is apparent that there is an influx of updated fairy-tales this year, Not all of them are actually being released by the end of 2012. With "Jack The Giant Killer" and "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" being pushed back until 2013, Does this extension of updated fairy tales show potential in becoming the new trend, or do these possible flops have a chance to bury the hopeful cash cow sub-genre?

Are there still lessons to be learned in updated fairy tales? Does the moral of the story change with the new adaptation?

Hey LEOG, this is my first time asking a question and I hope it's good enough for you to answer. 

When a reinterpretation of a fairy tale comes out, do you tend to have doubts or worries because of an earlier version that you love or like? For me I feel like that in the case of the Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman, I keep finding myself going back to the 1937 Disney movie.

What are the major sins in re-imagining of fairy tale? An obvious one would be messing with the moral but are there any more?

Dear ol' LEOG,

Fairy tales have been changed and altered ever since they were first recorded on paper (and even before). One such alteration form is the darkening up method or the "American McGee" approach, if you will. How do you feel about media that does such an approach? Do you think its like the "Shrek" method and become passe; or is there still life in it depending on the story (like having a nice adaptation of Bluebeard)?

Like most kids I grew up on the Disney movie versions of classic stories about magical creatures and what not. When I got older I read the originals and was shocked. Fairy tales are pretty messed up when you think about it. Which classic fairy tale story is the most fucked up in your opinion ?

Hey, League. I'mma keep it simple.

Beyond the new stuff on TV what old fairytale-related television series do you guys remember from before this new craze?

I for one am a bit of a fan of an old 8-episode miniseries called "The 10th Kingdom." In the series the fairytale world is actually an alternate dimension the Grimm brothers traveled to and collected their stories from, and it does a decent job of exploring a world in which all these different people exist. It was fairly ahead of its time in terms of storytelling and scale for television.

Just a quick question that relates to the topic. I was wondering if any of you have read the new sci fi fantasy series by Brian K. Vaughan called "Saga". If you have, could you share your thoughts on it?
