Check out Fandango right now and you'll see a glut of kid's movies opening at your local theater. Y'know why?

CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS, YOU DUMMY!

That's this week the League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen will spend this week talking about all of our favorite media that's MEANT FOR KIDS BUT WE LOVE IT TOO!

I'll be the first one to admit that on a podcast with a bunch of grown-ass men & women talking about superheroes, cartoons, action figures and games every week it's kinda hard to discern just what exactly is "meant for kids". That's why you have professionals like us to ask about it.

Also, with the countdown to Christmas it's time for the LEOG Gift Guide. What are the latest and greatest geek gifts that'll impress the members of your guild, anime club, Jedi council, larping clan, starfleet academy, etc.??

Sure, we have some suggestions but what are yours?

I am actually looking forward to this...

Hello members of the League,

I notice more and more these days that kids programs include subject matter or jokes that can be understood by adults watching the same program. Is it only recently that show runners have realized that they can market to kids as well as adults or has such a phenomena been around for a long time already?

Thanks and as always, Long Live the League!!!

Nope, The Muppets.

Hello to the League,

Have you watched a TV show or movie that aired on kids channel/tv block back in when you were a kid that seemed innocent to you, but as you got older, you started seeing references and innuendo that you didn't notice before and were shocked/surprised about? I do that all the time and was wondering if you all had the same situation happen.

Thanks, DHood90

Dear Leog

I just watched Hugo at the cinema there now. I would consider it too slow for the intended age group. Can you think of any other kid's properties that for whatever reason are unsuitable for the intended age group?

Gift recommendations:

For those who would prefer to read in church. Battle Pope

For those who have lots of files. A terastation

For those who get excited. Prize Bonds (one of the many Irish lottos)

For those who like comedy around serious topics. Stalag 17.

That is all.

Muppets? Can I talk about the Muppets!?! How about hoe much I love the Muppets...did I mention the Muppets? ;-)

Or like Sid the Science Kid, Yo Gabba Gabba, DinoTrain, Pocoyo, Doodbe Bops...I love kids television.

So I'll ask a question since I figure I wont be in the recording to talk about all the stuff I love...What shows on channels that are specifically made for kids (Nick Jr or PBS Kids) do you watch? What about a show that is obviously for children draws you in?

Is LEOG sadden at the demise of Saturday Morning Cartoons, it the end of the reign of Hanna Barbara, Sid & Marty Koft and Filmation?

Growing up I remeber Saturday morning was a magically time filled with Super Friends, Kung-Fu Janitor dogs, The Sid and Marty hour with Bigfoot and Wild boy and the Bay City Rollers, and even a little education with School House Rocks.  Now I look at Saturday mornings the bg three no longer have such programs (I remember when they would have specials on that first week in September to introduce the new fall cartoons).

Dear League,

Young Justice. Go.

I believe the correct usage is "Teen Titans, go."

Two points for James.
