On a dark and stormy night, with the light from a busted neon sign filtering through the blinds and jamming us in the eyes like a white hot poker The League of Extremely Hardboiled Gents (and a couple o' dames with gams that won't quit) will gather to bump gums over all the Noir & crime-themed funny books, picture shows and slots that are hittin' on all eights.

Listen up, you mooks. Not ta put the screws to you, but if you're itching to jam us with your inquisitions you'd best do it with plenty of swift. Don't end up behind the eight-ball, otherwise you'll be tripping for biscuits

Dear the league of extremely ordinary gents and dames,

Many might forget that the first ninja turtles movie actually had a great noir theme to it, mainly reflecting on Raphael in his tan trench coat and top hat. It had a great underbelly feel to it and a darker side to it which made me fall in love with it. Do you think that TMNT should return to its darker roots, if so would you show up to it or do you even care about tmnt to begin with.

Hey Folks,

While a fan of noir I realize just what a fine edge it walks from passing the line from the cool into the asinine; the extremes of the genre lend themselves to both intentional & unintentional self-parody & satire quite easily. What (if any) cases of this happening has the League ran into & how do they think those crossings have effected the genre?

I haven't seen this, but it might fit your quota (utilizes footage from many film noir films, came out 1982).

Hello League,

I would like to ask you a favor on the thirtieth day of November. I want you to answer my question godfathers and godmothers about  the business. What is your favorite real-life crime story? Thank you, and If you ever need a favor godfathers and godmothers, you know where to find me. May your family live long, healthy lives.

Dear LEOG,

I've been able to tear myself away from skyrim to write you this question. (well technically I'm writing this in between loading screens.) How great would a live action drama of the Question be? Im thinking a dark/comedy of types set in the dc universe ie super hero's are recognized as existing just maybe not involved in the plot. Who would you want to play Vic Sage, and on what kind of network would it be best on.

Thanks and long live the league.

ps have a swarthy member of the league say my name, so they dont butcher it. that is if rubio doesnt have his mouth stuffed with tacos.

dear LEOG

i have read the Batman: long halloween and "The Damned" by Cullen Bunn and absolutely loved their noire style are there any other noire comics you have loved an would recommend.

thanks and always LONG LIVE THE LEAGUE!!

Dear LEOG,

What Noir film got you first interested in the genre?

Thanks and Long Live the League

Dear League Of Noir Gentlemen

An animation question this week. Who among you remembers Ralph Bakshi's short lived HBO anthology series Spicy City?

It only lasted 6 episodes but I wanted to know if anyone out there remembers it.

Thanks A lot, Your partner in crime TheDVDGrouch.

Dear LEOG,

what's the attraction of the noir genre? Is it the hardboiled characters? Moody settings? Intricate plots?

Sincerely,

C.H. Gorog

P.S. Leog is a keen whoopee

My favorite crime drama is: Get rich or Die trying
