First, I want to thank Cyrus, Leon, Beau and Jason for giving me the honor to be a part of the LEOG. It is a true joy to hang, listen and learn from these guys. Second, I want to thank everyone for his or her comments, whether pro or con. I appreciate the input. I will gladly answer any music question anyone has to the best of my ability-bands, musicians, instruments, technique, the music business, resources, etc. Check out my profile. I am beefing it up with photos, music and information. I will try to have some general answers about my tastes and influences. I will also be more diligent with answering direct questions. There are few there now I have to catch up on.

The question I got from Death Metal Mike was about my gear. I will do a rundown on my profile. On the podcast I use my 1978 Fender Jazz with Bartolini active pick-ups and a 2TEK Bridge. I use DR Hi Beam strings-45-105. I use a Monster Bass cable and I play straight in the mixing board. Another thing is sound is more than gear. It is in the hands, how you attack the string and the note choices you make. You should sound like yourself no matter what gear you have.

The other question he asked concerned my influences and lesser-known bassists. My Top-10 bass influences, in no particular order are:

1. Marcus Miller
2. Jaco Pastorius
3. James Jamerson
4. Larry Graham
5. Paul McCartney
6. Fima Ephron
7. Stanley Clarke
8. Victor Wooten
9. Jerry Jemmott
10. Bootsy Collins

Other bassists I like to check out are Jason Garrison, Norwood Fisher, Muzz Skillings, Kim Clarke, Doug Wimbish, Tony Levin, Sting, Darryl Jones, Verdine White, Mark King, Nathan Watts & Anthony Jackson.

I will start to overhaul my profile this weekend so that you can use it as a resource. This is just the list of bass players. Don’t get me started on drummers, guitarists, upright bassists, piano players, saxophonists, trumpet players, composers, songwriters, bands, producers, gear, music theory and philosophy…..

(You see, as much as you guys live comics and movies, I live music!)

Greg question; btw me and my sis loved you at the Spill Party nice hair lol

Who for you is someone in music that might be less well-known that you're waiting to hit their mainstream stride? For me personally it'd be Lupe Fiasco for rap music and this rock group called Mercy Drive.
To tell you the truth-Soul Track Mind
How long did it take you to grow your hair.....Im thinking about it....what dreads can be E.V.I.L. xDDDD
I 've had various lengths of my dreads. I would say at least 2 years for this incarnation.
Basstab for Night Court (Television Theme)
Standard tuning

I know the Night Court theme. The issue is that the, melody is played by the saxophone. The better bassline is the theme to Barney Miller
greg what are your thoughts on jay cutler?
I think Jay Cutler is a good QB. I'm excited about what Hester and Knox can turn into with a good QB. I am worried about Lovie Smith's decisions, though.
You probable get asked this a lot, but what's the current estimation for the Soul Track Mind debut album release? Also, will it be available on iTunes? Just listening to the songs on the myspace page gets me excited for the album. You guys are fantastic. Also, if I want to listen to more soul similar the stuff you guys play, who should I turn to?
We are in the process of putting the tracks on iTunes. It just takes a long time if you have no major record label. The had part is raising the funds to record. We're taking a break from playing so many live gigs to write tunes. We want to go in the studio with 20 tunes to record.
I'm curious about something, Greg. What's your opinion about concerts being sold on DVD? Does it take away anything from the concert experiance or are they just as good as being there?

If this has been asked before, please point it out for me.
Concerts on DVD, for me, depends on the director & editing. Obviously, they are more compelling with great artists. I'm all for musicians having another revenue source. Concert films are never as good as being there. The crowd, the sound, the energy can't be simulated on DVD. I still like them, though.
