While there is no way currently to technically set the limit,
the Lounge is for posting of information by the LEOG
crew
and where appropriate, questions for us. Any discussions that YOU may want to start, we'd appreciate it if you please put in the fantastic fan-run original LEOG group run by the one and only Joseph.
That is the place where you can wax poetic to your heart's content about all things LEOG. Go here to get in on the crazy action. And yes, we do regularly check out that group as well.

If you have a question you want answered on a LEOG podcast, there's only one way that we give it the time of day, and that's to post it in the appropriate "Questions For" forum post when it goes up. I realize there's not always a current "Questions For" post up (so we don't have to sort through 1500 questions when the time comes) but you can be patient. Any questions sent to us through 'send message' or in any other place will be ignored. If you have a general question you want answered without worrying about it being in the podcast, put it on the
comment wall or (more likely to get answered) on our FAQ pages.

Also, I agree about the Insomnia remake Detfink... I wasn't the biggest fan.

Even with all the success Nolan has had with Batman, when the "actual" director of the new Superman gets hired, is he really going to follow all Nolan's instructions, or is he just going to make his own movie anyhow? I've never seen "Mentor" in the credits before..

I do see this as a positive thing, in showing the studio is serious about making a good Superman movie, I'm just not 100% what it really means...

From what I read, Nolan's not "taking over" Superman, he's mentoring. whatever that really entails.

I think Nolan is smart enough to know that Superman and all that it entails (big huge action with Optimism and Inspiration) is not his usual bag. But what I hope he's being asked to do with this mentoring is to share the formula.

And I mean formula not for a plot, but the formula for how to approach and make a good Reboot. What Nolan and his team have said often with Batman Begins, is they took the best story arcs (and even some lesser known story arcs), took the best elements from them, really pay attention to what works thematically and aesthetically, and still had to make it about the character.

I'm really excited about this news. Especially if DC wants to copy MArvel (and you know they do... and vise versa) and try to blend their big movies together. A good way to make sure Superman and Batman franchises have some overlap is to get the Batman guy involved in the Superman film. :D
Dr. Detfink Comment by Dr. Detfink 27 minutes ago
I don't know how to feel about Nolan taking over Superman. Yes, I love his Batman but he's in a different ball game with Superman. It feels almost as if Warner/DC said "Save us!" and do that thing you did with Batman making him more believable/credible with audiences. Do I want that? I don't know.

Also, what does mentoring mean? Sounds like a way of saying we'll blame it on this guy in case it fucks up and it won't get back to Nolan. BTW Nolan's Insomnia remake? Meh compared to the original.

I haven't watched Smallville since season 2. I'm sure it's very entertaining but the whole black trenchcoat, spray painted House of El symbol is a big pass from me. For something like 7 years, the minds behind Smallville have been saying, "Oh we're doing this before Metropolis!" as a cop out but I can't shake it has to do with the fact that they hate the blue and red costume.

All I can do for now is hope for the best.

why would nerds be scared, they pretty much make the world go round with electric cars, new java apps, mobile phones etc. Nerds are your master and don't you forget it.
David Comment by David 1 hour ago
Okay... As long as his vision, aesthetic, and general storytelling interests get left behind. Nothing about how Christopher Nolan approached Batman applies to Superman. At all.

Christopher Nolan mentoring the Superman film reboot?

awesome.
