"I've lavished praise upon Konietzko and DiMartino before, and rightfully so; they set out to refute the notion that only a Western, Eurocentric mythopoeia would appeal to Western audiences, and they did so with skill and with aplomb. Konietzko and DiMartino made a conscious effort, a committed effort, a noble effort. They did their research. They did the leg-work. They hired historical consultants to help them fashion one of the most nuanced, challenging universes in contemporary speculative fiction. They hired martial arts masters to work with their animators, so that the show's martial arts were not only authentic, but apt besides -- the liquid fluidity of tai chi, the aggressive posture of Shaolin kung fu, the rollicking kinetics of ba gua. They researched architecture and cuisine. They did all the things you're supposed to do, and then decided that that wasn't enough, so they doubled their efforts on top of that."

So, I just watched the 6th episode of the last season with the commentary on...
They went through a couple rounds to find the perfect voice
when trying to find the actor to play the young Roku in the episode,
The Avatar and The Firelord (best episode ever)
This is a quote from the creator, DiMartino or Konietzko (i couldn't tell who was who),
===
Its a challenge because
its not that someone may not be a good actor
its,
"Do they sound like this
continuous character
at a specific age
that matches with the character design?"
===
Why can't they put this much effort to find the live action actors/actresses?
Come on M.Night!
Let's move to round 2 already!
