While Trigun is more fun to watch than Cowboy Bebop for the most part, Cowboy Bebop is so emotionally gripping that I have to say that it is the better anime.

BioSaber, I will agree with you that Trigun vs Death note... Trigun will win in both the action and comedy catagories, but Death note is a much deeper series and watching it turn into an amazing chess battle of wits is just great. I am not knocking Trigun at all do not get me wrong. It was one of my first series and i loved it. But overall I just don't think that it will stand up against Death note or even FMA or Elifn lied for that matter.
But this is all a matter of opinion and not one is ever going to agree on a definitive number one.

Trigun, i dont think Trigun is the greatest, its great, but not as great as Berserk, now thats the best anime, in my opinion

The L vs Light parts were intense, but the way the ending came ( in the anime) and how they just wrapped everything up was awesome.
As far as best anime ever, Death note is up there but it gets cycled around with FMA, Elfin Lied and EVA.

I agree with you Emperor Kefka. Death Note is one of the best animes out there when it comes to a thriller. I read the manga and watched the animated series and I enjoyed them both but the best parts were with Light going against L.
