I'll be attending the Spill party in Austin, and I'm also going to be spending a couple of more days in Austin, it's a city I've always wanted to check out.
Although, I've never BEEN in the city, and I have no idea what it's like. Thank goodness for the internet, I made a quick Google Map of Austin that will give out-of-towners an idea of how the city is laid out; and ALSO it has some possible locations that have been mentioned on ACOCO, LDT and LEOG.
I will add more locations to it as time goes by, and once finalized plans are announced, I'll add those locations as well.
I just added a few places Korey reccomended from the Secret Spill Call in Show. "The Salt Lick" and "Texas Chili Parlor", also "Nomad's Bar" which is an official location of Saturday evening's Spill party festivities.
Hey Austin Locals... there were multiple "Salt Lick" locations and two different places called "The Nomad" ... please feel free to correct me if I chose the wrong one.
Same thing with the "Alamo Draft house" there are a bunch of those. I dunno which one is "THE one" that'll be used for Spill Party...
The best Draft House is the large one on South Lamar, it is only a short drive from 6th street. It has the most comfortable seats, the most movie selections and a very good selection of beers. They even serve Butter Beer! Here is a link to that cinema: Alamo Drafthouse: South Lamar

Thanks guys! that is solid to know.
However I removed the South Lamar Drafthouse from the map and left the one on 6th Street, where The Meet & Greet Brunch and Live "Let's do This" are being held.
Only because I wanted to keep the map free of any (potentially) conflicting info, and didn't want to confuse any out-of-towners with multiple drafthouses... Don't want anyone getting lost or turned around that weekend...
But again, thanks for the reccomendation. I'm going to be spending a week there, so I'll definitely check out the one on South Lamar at some point during the week.
The "real" Salt Lick is just outside of Austin. It's a wee bit of a drive and they ONLY TAKE CASH, but they do have the all-you-can-eat option.
Personally, I more often go to Rudy's BBQ or Sam's, which is in 'the hood'.
the Salt Lick that I currently have high lighted on the map does appear just outside of Austin, on "Presidential Blvd" (a loop of a road) and it seems in the same general vicinity of the Airport. Sound about right?
- I added Sam's BBQ.
- There seems to be three"Rudy's Country Store & BBQ" locations, "11570 Research Blvd"; "2451 S Capital of Texas Hwy"; and "7709 N FM 620". is one better than the others?
Thanks Leon!
I am really looking forward to Texas BBQ. We have a really good BBQ joint in Syracuse (The Dinosaur BBQ) and they are REALLY good, but the problem is I've never had any other BBQ joint to COMPARE the Dinosaur to. I'm really lookign forward to this trip!
ADDED: Ruby's
Inconclusive: County Line (Lots of places called County Line. Jason if you tell em what street the County Line you're talking about is located on, I'll add it to the map.
