ALTERNATIVES TO HOTELS:
There are a few trends becoming increasingly popular with travelers each year. For the adventurous type these options are either less money than the average hotel or can give you more bargain for your dollar. They may require a little more research, but in the end you'll often find yourself pleasantly surprised with the results.
AIRBNB:
This network offers a global network of people offering rentals ranging from rooms to entire homes. The prices are often equal to or less than an average hotel. However, you get the feeling of an actual home, sometimes with the personal attention of a friendly hosts. We've used this service many times and trusts us, it's great. Come on, stop being intimidated by something different and sign up. You'll be asking "Why haven't I heard of this before?"

HOSTELS:
Finally, there's the good ol' hostel - y' know, the place you always see as a drawback because you share the room with a bunch of a people but in the end end up finding a lot of great drinking buddies. Austin has some of the coolest, a few with their own small but private rooms. The link below will help in finding a few of the places some of our Spillios stayed last year.

Hope this helps. Now that we've gone out of our way to help you with your accommodations, all we ask in return is that we see your pretty little faces here at Spill Dot Con 2012!

Permalink Reply by ZombieC on April 3, 2012 at 4:07am Thanks for putting this guide together. So if I guess right. The holiday inn is the best choice to stay at due to the distance?

The Holiday Inn is directly across the street from the daytime events. (Also wow sorry for the way late response)
Permalink Reply by Zigaroma on April 27, 2012 at 5:47pm I have a room booked at the super 8 downtown that has an extra bed, I also have a car and will be getting into town on the 14th. Permalink Reply by Rabid Scotsman on May 8, 2012 at 3:32am Who is staying at either the Holiday Inn Midtown or Habitat Suites?
Im staying at the holiday inn
Just purchased my room. Any Spillios that are familiar with walking to the events. I need a tour guide!
Hey if anyone is willing to split a room I already booked one. Just realized staying in a room by myself isnt the smartest thing to do . Send me a message.
