Just arrived and checked into my hotel near the airport, Microtel Inn. Nice place. Gonna get some rest, some food and then off to the Scoot Inn.

If Austin were my only destination I wouldn't concern myself but I'm going on to Atlanta for two weeks so I'm trying to be as frugal as possible.

Chris, several people are at La Quinta Inn on 11th Street (I seriously considered this one). Myself and several others are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. Those are my first recommendations.

Still trying to decide on a good place to stay. Considering th Micro Tel Inn for its rates and amenities. Ewok Princess gave me some good recommendations also but before I get locked in was wanting any final input. I'm getting a rental car so I guess it won't really matter.

It's official! I am coming to Spill.com and can take two people to crash at my place (it's a pretty good size apartment)! The only conditions are that you have to help with cab fare since I'll be flying in from El Paso. Of course, if you'll showing up with your own car, well sh*t, you're my new best friend! Firming up my arrangements now. I hope to get in on the 24th and fly out for GA that Monday. Stopping off in Austin isn't going to push my trip costs up too much except for the rental car and that's not too big a deal. If nothing else I get a chance to explore Austin, something I never got a chance to do when I lived in Abilene. Oh yeah, I'm not a drinker so if I'm around then I can be a default driver if the need arises.

Great group idea. I'm making my arrangements coming from the 808 (HAWAII) and need reliable info on what hotels are closest to what's going on. Any/all info will be appreciated.
