NO what they need to do is have Disney/Marvel buy back the rights to not only this, but all their movie properties. Sony is just abusing their contract like FOX usually does, so they must get it back before this continues.

the thing they need to do is bring back everyone... but only have ONE villain. they did that with 1 and 2. 3 was just too much. and there was no time for character development.

Well, they just signed Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) as the director, so since he's never done a superhero film, an action film, a special effects film, a blockbuster, or even a comic book film... well, let's just say it doesn't exactly inspire hope.

I don't really have a problem with a reboot. Not that it was necessary but something...maybe a public apology(?) was necessary after Spidey 3. But let's not get carried away. It's not like Spiderman 1&2 were perfect. I've never enjoyed the campiness of them and wouldn't be surprised that, if the reboot is well done, we look back on Spidey 1-3 the same way we looked at Tim Burton's Batman series (which I was never too crazy about). Didn't like Kirsten Dunst as MJ; didn't like the Green Goblin costume; didn't like Doc Oc and the hold tritium premise. Character of Norman Connors was wasted. Where was wise ass Spidey? Not that I didn't enjoy them but they did leave a lot to be desired.

reboot my ass! tobey will is spidey always! but i am happy that someone else will play mj and possiibly they give venom another shot but i hate the going back to high shool bullshit, just pick up after spiderman 2 or something
