TGS has just started today, September 24th, and here's what has happened so far (or at least most of it) with some of my own personal comments.
DAY 1 (Sept. 24):
Starting as of September 27th, the Wii will be $200. Comments: I expected this. I really don't see this helping sales since every damn family on the planet has one.
Kaz Hirai has announced the PS3 has sold 1 million units in three weeks. Comments: I love the PS3, but I know we'll see a steep drop off soon. I'm really glad it's finally selling good.
Splinter Cell: Conviction gets a Febuary 23rd release date. Comments: I'm torn on what to get know, this or Bioshock 2.
Ape Escape, Echochrome 2, Sing and Draw, Eccentric Slider, Champions of Time, The Shoot, Tower, and Motion Party have been announced as first-party titles for Sony's Motion Controller. Other games like Hustle Kings, Pain, Flower, Eye Pets, and High Velocity Bowling have also been announced to get motion controller support via downloadable patches. Comments: I'll be excited to see how Ape Escape turns out.
Resident Evil 5 was also announced to be motion controller compatible. Besides the controls, it will also include a new episode featuring Chris and Jill, originally a flashback sequence in RE5. Comments: I may just pick RE5 up now.
SCEE has announced a PSP Go rewards program, which will let people who currently own a PSP to download three free PSP games as long as the own at least one UMD. The program will only be offered in Europe, and is limited to 17 games ( Resistance: Retribution, Patapon, adnd Wipeout Pure to name a few) . Comments: I guess Sony does not want current PSP owners money. Now I guess I won't be getting this now.
DAY 2 (Sept. 25):
A Blue Dragon sequel has been announced for the DS. It will be an action RPG, have four-player co-op, and will take place 2 years after the original game. Comments: Have not beaten Blue Dragon yet, so I'm not sure about this yet.
A FFXIII PS3 Bundle has been announced for Japan. The bundle will include a 250GB HDD, a white PS3 with a red painting of the protagonist Lightning on it, and Final Fantasy XIII. It will retail for 41,600 Yen (approx. $464). Comments: Awesome. Makes me feel like buying another PS3 for an outrageous price on ebay.
Final Fantasy VIII has been announced to come out on the PSN only in Japan for now. That costs 1,500 Yen (approx. $16). Comments: Can't wait for it to come to the North American PSN. It'll be an instant buy, just like FFVII.
That's it for now, I plan on updating this daily. Share your opinions in the comments section.
