I had this question on my page for a bit, but since It had nothing to do with who had a nicer ass Catwoman or Wonder Woman (catwoman obviously had the nicer ass, the tits are arguable) most people just ignored it....but know since I have the attention of the Free thinkers on spill I figured I would give it another shot...

What is Morality? Is it merely what the Majority of Citizens in a Society view as acceptable, or is it something more? Socrates Tells us that "A system of morality based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, Thoroughly vulgar in conception that has nothing sound in it and no truth."

So why would we allow something that supposedly can't exist control our lives?

Morals change every generation as well as amongst the people. Morals aren't realizations that we come to ourselves. Morals are influenced by those around us and what society says is acceptable/"normal". It's another cause and effect situation. You see an old woman taking her sweet time at the liquor store counter, you don't push her, (even though it's so easy to do so), because you're raised to respect elders by either your parents or your environment...

..Well, that's at least how I see it.
Yeah I agree with you to an extent....

I relate it to driving a car....It always fascinated me that people stopped at red lights....That might sound weird but think about it...When you are driving in your car you aren't wondering if you are going to stop for the light you just do...It gets to the point when you don't even think about driving any more and you are stopping and going subconsciously....trippy...Just one of many examples how we conform to society without realizing it...

but I personally think there is more than conditioned responses when it comes to Morality.....
I don't really drive all that much.I usually carpool, walk, or take the bus. I never found cars to be necessitates. It's only been mistaken as such.

But I do see where you're coming from.
Living In California you need a car...our public transportation is a joke....unless you are downtown.
"Morality lets us feel like we did the what is right no mater how it all turns out, for good or ill."

Why does doing "right" make us feel good?
