I wanted to gauge interest of the group going to "Into the Woods" in July. The show is part of the Public Theater's Shakespeare/Sondheim in the Park series, and they've got a great cast this year including Amy Adams and Denis O'Hare.

Anyways, tickets are free, but in order to get them, you have to camp out early the morning of the show and wait in line up until they distribute tickets at 1 PM. The good news is that if you want to go to the show but can't commit the time to wait in line, you might not have to. Each person in line can request up to 2 tickets, so if we collectively get enough people to camp out that morning, we can get enough tickets for everyone to go!

So, this is what I need to know. If you're interested in going to "Into the Woods," leave a comment below stating that you want to go to the show and whether you can commit the time to camp out one of these Saturday mornings. Keep in mind that if you commit to camping out, you have to arrive either at 6 AM or shortly after and stay until they distribute tickets. This might sound like a drag, but it's really not! People typically bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets, games, music, etc. and keep themselves pretty well entertained, and there are local restaurants that will deliver food to people waiting in line.

Here's a trailer for another recent production of "Into the Woods" to give you an idea of the show and its tone. Basically, it's a show that asks the question of what we sacrifice to get what we want and what we do once we get our "happy ending."

21st works best for.me. I believe I have that weekend off.

Definitely up for this, and definitely up for camping out in line for tickets!  We can all talk about the reason we're going into the woods. (the central park woods that is) although our song will be a little less interesting, cause, well, we're all going there to get tickets.

This sounds like a David Cross skit. ;)
We also have to get Rider Kabuto a ticket.

Okay, so it looks like the line-up so far is:
1. Dr. Detfink
2. Michael5188
3. Rider Kabuto
4. Frizzlestick
5. Rachel
6. Lorne and Elaine (They said they would like to go if we can get tickets for them.)

So if 4 of us show up that morning, we can get enough tickets for everyone. Also, unless anyone has objections, I'm going to go ahead with the 21st.

Looks good to me! :)

It's looking like Eric or myself will have to work the morning of the 21st. It'll be one of us, not both, so as long as Dr. Detfink, Michael5188, and Rider Kabuto are still up for camping out, we will still be able to get 8 tickets collectively.

I am off the 21 so I am available to camp out.
Rachel let us know if you bring smacks.I live in a house with an extreme copouner I got tons of snacks
Just to be clear, we are camping out on the night of the 20th into the morning of the 21st right? :)

If so, I will bring food as well. Some pork belly, rice, salad.

No, we're not camping out overnight. The park opens at 6 AM, so we have to be there when the park opens at 6 until they distribute tickets at 1:00 PM.

Food is still great, though!

Kind of important as to where to show up. If I am reading this right (hope I am) gotta line up along Central Park West 81st street because the park closes at 1am.
