NYC B&V #20: Friday July 15th Harry Potter & Deathly Hallows pt2 & Mudville 9 B&R "Big kids nite"
During the last drunken NYB&V Woody89 confessed having the hots for some chick that holds a phallic symbol and screams incantations. Meaning my favorite son on spill will be marrying a wiccan who couldn't finish college. *face palms*
Love it or hate it, Harry Potter may have saved the world of literature for children. Ever look through children's books as an adult? I've had some experience in these matters and it's a nightmare. I mean, it's dominated by celebrities putting their own selfish ideas on what's important for kids. So along comes JK Rowling who had the benefit of the right agent, the rise of online purchasing, and before you can say Expecto Patronum, it was a hit.
Course, there are adults who might love this Potter magic a little too much...
Never felt the urge to dress up for any book signing but alas, the expecto dorkus spell never fails at any Potter event. I can handle that actually but...I might have to self-medicate if I see this kid:

I don't think anyone can truly predict the popularity of phenomenons such as the Harry Potter franchise. While the films are uneven compared to the books, it's been handled with enough care that fans and non-fans have accepted the work of these child actors who have grown up before our eyes.
Itinerary
Date: Friday July 15th
Time of Showing: 6:45pm
Theater: Regal Battery Park Stadium 11 102 North End Ave
Meet spot: Pick-a-Bagel
Note: Waiting to be seated for Super 8, a worker @Lincoln Center IMAX theatre told me that Harry Potter already been sold out for the first weekend...I thought to myself I better pick a theater that gives people time to get tickets. Battery Park is also close to the NJ PATH, routes to SI Ferry, etc.
Post movie rendez-vous spot roughly 10pm-ish...
Mudville 9 Bar & Restaurant 126 Chambers & West Broadway: Anticipating a potential of hosting both under 21 and over 21 members, this was the best I could do in the TriBeCa area without pulling people completely out of their way further. It's a pseudo-sports bar/restaurant but reasonable prices. If you're nuts they have all you can eat Wings and pitchers of beer.

I plan on going to this meet up...however I need a dose of Harry Potter 101. I don't have the money to buy all of the movies to get me prepared to see this, so I was wondering if anyone can inform me as to how to get access to them. I think a Harry Potter Marathon would be awesome, maybe tv will air some of them.

Sorry Jonny. I honestly have never used a torrent or downloaded music for free...but I'm sure there are people who do on spill. I think the big Potter fans I know in this group are Heavy D, Rachel Kolb, and Woody89. They might know. Wouldn't the library have rental for Potter? If not I am SURE cable will have it or TV.

I've only got 3 of the Potter films. I think I have Azkaban, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows Pt. 1. If you want to borrow any or all, let me know and take care of them please. I am very protective of my DVD/Blu-ray collection.
Also, for those of you who ordered cupcakes for Green Lantern, once again I am sorry to disappoint. I will be bringing them to Harry Potter, though, and I might see if I can get my hands on some Butterbeer. If you want one, put in your order again. Thanks from the group's token joette! ;)

Yeah dude, ABC Family has been airing them pretty often. If you're a fast reader (and fucking crazy) I would actually suggest that you read the books over the next few weeks. It seems impossible, but once you get into them, you'll blaze through in no time.
