A Bunch of kids trying to make a short film for the Spill dot con, inadvertently record something extraordinary in Super 8.

If you're playing fantasy box office, you're crushing your opponent if you grabbed Hanger 2, Super 8, Pirates 4, Super 8, and Transformers 3. Keep in mind, it's got nothing to do with intelligence but gauging the intelligence of your audience. It's also my bet that none of the comic book influenced films are going to score a top 4 spot.

The catch phrase of the Super 8 comic book, "The Soviets sent a dog, we sent a nuke!" (seriously?)

FINALIZED

Movie: Super 8 IMAX

Date: Saturday June 11

Where: AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13

Time: 7pm

Meet up spot: Top floor of the cineplex right outside the IMAX theatre itself. If you're a noobie, leave G-man, founder of the group contact info, we'll text the missing 30 minutes before the movie. For every one else, if you are running late text us and we'll save you a seat.

Rationale: With Super 8's Hype, PG rating (that means kids!), few IMAX on Manhattan, and opening weekend expect a clusterfuck. I also have regular monthly vets of the group coming from work. They commute from NJ, Outer borough, etc. And I gotta be more preferential to the longer run supporters.

Notes: While Kips Bay is the closer theater to our potential post movie destination, by far the smaller and shittier quality IMAX. Therefore, while this may or may not be convenient location wise, I do think the Lincoln Square theater is the best quality IMAX in Manhattan.

230 Fifth is a brunch and late night bar spot. Honestly, never tried this place as a late night spot but I wanted to switch things up. 230 Fifth website

Important notice: There is no cover. If you go on the page for brunch, at the bottom is a dress code: You can wear jeans and sneakers BUT...No trendy t-shirts, flip flops, or white beaters.  Try to leave the denim suit behind.

Now there is a catch-22. If the weather is rainy. A two floor bar becomes a one floor bar with no roof over the top floor. That could make things difficult with a large group. If the bar is inaccessible then we meet @ Spring Lounge on Mulberry & Spring street.

Basically, wear a casual smart look. If you're like me boring and conservative...polo shirts (not of the Ralph Lauren variety but of that kind of shirt) works or if you are more of a fashion hound...go for it.

Hope to see you there.

D.d.

ONE request: Guys, for those of you who have met me. You know me. I NEVER ask for anything from you. But I must ask ONE thing....

Prior to the 18th meet up, lordofBklyn sustained a fractured wrist on a mountain bike accident mere hours before trying to make it to meet us. In serious PAIN, he called Korey Coleman on our behalf to make sure he was available to meet us at Vig Bar.

So when LordofBrklyn meets up with us for the 19th meet up, PLEASE buy him ONE drink. That's it. This group takes CARE of its own. It IS a New York United.

YES I know I make promises, but I'm in. I'll be waiting for official confirmation for the time so I can buy the ticket.

Not old enough to drink but damn that aint gonna stop me. Untied we stand, together we pass out, and get cabs.

The time is already confirmed. I just bought my ticket.
Bought. Are we meeting up at the theatre?
Yes.
What concerns me about this movie is the fact the kids are sooooo pale. Are they day walkers?
Definitely Walkers...as they are making a zombie movie when the train explosion releases the creature.
Count me in. It'll be cool to meet the infamous Brew & View Crew.
Is there a cover charge at that rooftop bar?
No.
I've been a longtime fan of Spill and been following the New York group as well.  I'm in Brooklyn and am definitely interested in coming to this Brew and View.

Anything I need to do beforehand besides reply here to be in attendance?  The tickets have been purchased for 7 PM.
Glad to finally have you here David, if you have your ticket and the info above, your all set. seeya there.
